We held a private event at Torbert and it was a hit! Jessica was easy to work with and very accommodating during planning. Everyone loved the space and the drinks. We did a combo of food from their regular menu and options from their sister restaurants and it was all delicious! The cost was very comparable to buying out other local spots but our group enjoyed this space more than places we've gone to in the past.

We hosted a team happy hour in their semi-private space. Jessica was extremely responsive during the planning stages, and when we arrived the space was ready for us and food was out and ready to go. Our servers were great, very attentive and friendly! The cocktails were delicious, and everyone said what a cool space it was and how they wanted to come back when it was warmer/not raining to hang out in the outdoor area as well.

Expected more out of this place based on all that I’ve heard. Long story short, it’s pretentious and the service is the worst part. Worst experience I’ve had at an “upscale” bar. Drinks are overpriced. Bar is beautiful.Long story:> Host was extremely rude and abrasive.> Waitress was cold and inattentive. Took 10 minutes to get water and place a drink order.> Switched from a table to sit at the bar hoping to get better service. Bartender was the worst person of the three. I was at the bar for 15m with my wife and he never spoke to us one time. Our drinks sat empty for 5 minutes and we were the only people at the bar. At one out, there were three bartenders, the waitress, and a manager/drink runner within 5 feet of us and not a single one paid any attention to us trying to get someone’s attention.> Music was way too loud.> Cocktails were bland and overpriced.> Better bars in Wilmington in no particular order are: Bardea, Crowbar, & Hummingbird to Mars.

I hosted a work Christmas Party at the Torbert Social Room (above the Washington Street Ale House) and have to say it was one of the best we've had yet! The food was delicious, and the service we great. Jessica made everything run smoothly from the menu choice as well as all accommodations. All I had to do was show up.
