Always delicious, always hard to decide..

My husband and I came here for Wilmington restaurant week! The food looked really good on Yelp but the reviews were alittle concerning. I decided to give them a shot anyway. The restaurant week menu was alittle underwhelming but we found some things we would like. Our waitress asked us what type of water we wanted since we said we wanted water so I said tap vs. sparkling (which is fine whatever). We got two glasses of RT water like they were indeed from the tap. I noticed later every other table had cold ice water served to them. Strange. We got bread and oil quickly which we inhaled. After we ordered we waited atleast 30 mins for our first appetizers. We noticed the restaurant getting more crowded and the wait staff running around. We asked for more bread and it took even longer to get. For some reason it seemed like other tables were getting served their meals much faster than ours. For apps we got the flatbread and meatballs. The meatballs seemed like frozen meatballs (doesnt seem homemade) but the sauce and mushrooms in the dish was good! The flatbread was pretty good too. Our meal was another 30 mins (1 hr) and we still haven't gotten our entrees. Our waitress didn't even check on us or apologize for the delay it's like she didn't care about our table at all. Eventually we got our entrees. My husbands shrimp pasta was pretty good while mine was just not good. I got the tuna loin with saffron risotto with lemon sauce. It looks like the sauce just sat there and dripped off the risotto. The risotto was way over cooked and mushy. It looked like my dish was sitting under the heat lamp for awhile. I ate some of the tuna loin and the risotto was just gross. We got our desserts alittle but faster this time. My chocolate cake was pretty good and my husband enjoyed his tiramisu. We were annoyed how long everything was and how expensive it still was for the quality of food. Not sure if I would return. There are way better Italian places in Wilmington in my opinion. I gave 2 stars one for the appetizer and one for the dessert.

My husband and I had dinner here on our first day in Wilmington. We had a great meal at an outside table. Beautifully cooked salmon with a delicious salad and perfect risotto. Service was excellent. We were tired and grumpy when we arrived, and by the time we finished our meal we felt happy and relaxed, looking forward to the evening. We would definitely go there again when in the area.

Really wanted to like this place more than I actually did. The food wasn't terrible, and it wasn't outstanding, it just.....was. The grilled avocado appetizer was great, but the rest was just "ok." The gnocchi dish was bland, the pizza sauce tasted tinny, and the rest was unremarkable. Service was very good.

Absolutely incredible food! Wild boar is amazing. Grace is an amazing server and even better, kinder human! Please ask for her when you visit this amazing restaurant!

Great food and awesome service. Ordered the polpo, grilled avocado, short rib, and pomodoro pasta (they were accommodating for gluten-free diet as well!). Their cocktails were also fantastic (strong and flavorful) and arrived on time (unlike what other reviews say). For dessert we ordered their lemon cake. It was superb! Alyson (our server) was very attentive and thoughtful. Overall, we can wait to go back to try other dishes!

We had the most amazing experience tonight! Grace was beyond graceful dealing with a challenging table, the food was truly outstanding and the atmosphere was truly wonderful! Everything about our experience was perfect! Please choose this establishment for a truly exceptional dinning experience!!

This is my second time to Toscana in about a month and will be my last for a while! In both experiences, the wait time to get our meal was over 90 minutes. We ended up leaving last night after waiting 90 minutes and finishing a bottle of wine (to which the server wanted to know if we wanted another. No, we wanted our meal.) The restaurant was packed and the servers were doing everything they can but it's tough to recommend a place when you can't have food in under an hour and a half. Please stop accepting so many reservations if you can't accomodate them!

I want to thank the chef, owner, and wait staff for hosting my daughters bridal shower. The service and food were excellent! The staff were so helpful and accommodating! The restaurant atmosphere was beautiful. All the guests thought the food was amazing. I just want to thank you so much, we had a beautiful day!

It was fine, nothing special. The service was good; our server was very friendly. The restaurant did get pretty full around 6pm and you could tell it was a lot for the servers. The breadsticks were very dense and heavy on the stomach. I got the angel hair pasta with tomato sauce. I felt like there was something missing. The sauce was incredibly one-note, although I did appreciate the chunks of tomatoes. We didn't have room for dessert since the breadsticks were so filling; I couldn't even finish my pasta. I left with a full stomach although I can't say I was completely satisfied.

Good service can save a bad meal, but there is no level of food that can save bad service.” -Alton Brown We experienced a very similar experience as other dinners who had to wait more than an hour for their meal. The difference is we left after waiting a little more than an hour for our dinner. After waiting close to 45 minutes we asked our wait person for an estimate for dinner she said “let me check, I will be right back.” Well she never returned and 20 minutes later we left. Unfortunately this is the second time we had to leave hungry. The first time I called and was assured that this was an “unusual situation and please try our restaurant again!” So, we did try again last night, not so unusual and incredibly unacceptable. According to Alton Brown of the Food Network, “if your order only mains (which we had), they should be to you within 20 minutes.” I don’t plan to give this restaurant another try. Dinners beware!

For many years, this was our favorite restaurant. I'm sorry to say that the quality of the food and service is less than average. The chicken was very dry, the pasta was over cooked and the salad was drowned in balsamic, no olive oil it would seem. The wine menu was sparse as well. I hope that they can bring it back to its former glory.

I can't believe it's been four years since I reviewed this wonderful restaurant. We ate outside, which is nice in these difficult times. The food was excellent (scallops for me and risotto for my spouse). They had a half-price wine special if we showed our vaccination cards, and that was a great surprise. Our server, Amadu, was cheerful, friendly and very good at what he does. It was an anniversary meal and very memorable. (And the tiramisu was perfect, too.)
