Cilantro Tacos (Alachua)

Visited Cilantro since we were in the area and hungry for a quick lunch. Place was almost empty around 3pm on Saturday since we beat the early dinner crowd. Luckily only had 2 people in front of us before we ordered. Husband got 3 tacos with chicken and 1 shrimp taco. I got the steak quesadilla with a side of cheese fries. For drinks, 1 small fountain drink with 2 pre-packaged coconut juices. Total was about $55 with a generous tip and we decided to eat in. Food was ready in about 15 minutes and it was delightful. No fat in my steak quesadillas (which is good), my husband's tacos were fresh, and the fries had just the right amount of cheese. The facilities were clean including the restrooms and overall seemed well-kept. The only thing I would say that sort of ruined the ambiance was 1 inquiring fly that buzzed by a few times but didn't have a chance to land on any of our good food since we finished it all.
Free parking lot outside has lots of spaces. There's also an outdoor eating area if you want to enjoy the blazing sun during lunch. I'd come back again ☀️ Thanks for a nice first foodie visit.

I should have been paid $8.97 to each the two tacos I picked up from the Alachua location for lunch. I ordered one ground beef and one chicken taco, since all lunch options were pricey (3 taco special rings up $14+ - this is Alachua, not Downtown Gainesville or Tioga). While the beef was edible, the chicken was oversalted and dry, like it had been simmering in brine for hours at the bottom of a pot and then rehydrated with seawater. I was really surprised for the amount of money paid. My past experiences here were better. I also only received one salsa. Chips are extra. For comparison, $9.26 gets you two supreme soft tacos, chips, and guacamole from Taco Bell across the street.

I ordered fish and shrimp tacos with the special tortillas that are dipped, they were awesome; great flavor, quality ingredients and the service was very friendly and helpful.

super hit or miss. Just ordered doordash and they didn’t put chips in the bag for either order so i’m gonna run to the supermarket and grab some which literally defeats the purpose of me paying extra for delivery 😭

The food here is amazing! I frequent here and love the food and atmosphere. My issue is with their rewards system. I ordered $40+ worth of food for only one stamp. That’s not very rewarding for your loyal customers.

Amazing food! The best homemade hot sauce. The vibes are perfection and they have table games! Have a little local section to purchase stuff as well :) 10/10
