Cilantro Tacos (Alachua)

This food was not good. Very salty and you couldn’t tell which tacos had pork or chicken because they were so overcooked. The cooks food stations were a mess. Extremely disappointing.

UPDATE: I want to say thank you to the quick response to my review and to make it right. I was not looking for a refund and I know poor reviews can be frustrating. Some owners couldn’t care less, that was not the case here. I will try them again, this is not a corporate chain and they are employing local people. Thank you.

Good fresh food. Quick serve tex-mex style food with tacos, burritos, bowls, etc. Nice little spot. I had tacos and they were pretty good.

I frequent Cilantro Tacos in Alachua about once a week but after last night, I'll be looking for another restaurant to appease my birria cravings. The disrespectfully BURNT order I received last night almost seemed personal. Shame on the cook for thinking it was acceptable to send out, shame on whoever who packed the order for the same. See attached image to understand why I was so angry. Doordash refunded me after some back and forth but ownership needs to be involved.

Loved this cute little place! The food was great, the staff were so friendly and attentive and the prices were very reasonable considering the portions you get. Will be a regular.

Came out due to them advertising Birria tacos. Evidently they didn't have them even tho had a sign saying to try them. We went with the special of 2 tacos- nothing spectacular. A bit expensive.

I want to compliment their employee Nadia. She has consistently greeted us with a smile and is always cleaning the tables and wiping down the counters. No one likes to try to sit down with your food and seeing dirty tables everywhere-
Nadia and the food is what keeps us coming back.

I was not expecting this place to be so good!
Service was great and food came out quick and it was delicious. Atmosphere was perfect they even had board games and feminine products for the ladies. Definitely worth it.

The food was so tasty! And the portions were substantial. I had the steak bowl and my wife had tacos. We loved them both. The nacho and dips were so good as well. The staff was very cordial as well. Simple restaurant, but delightfully decorated.

Visited Cilantro since we were in the area and hungry for a quick lunch. Place was almost empty around 3pm on Saturday since we beat the early dinner crowd. Luckily only had 2 people in front of us before we ordered. Husband got 3 tacos with chicken and 1 shrimp taco. I got the steak quesadilla with a side of cheese fries. For drinks, 1 small fountain drink with 2 pre-packaged coconut juices. Total was about $55 with a generous tip and we decided to eat in. Food was ready in about 15 minutes and it was delightful. No fat in my steak quesadillas (which is good), my husband's tacos were fresh, and the fries had just the right amount of cheese. The facilities were clean including the restrooms and overall seemed well-kept. The only thing I would say that sort of ruined the ambiance was 1 inquiring fly that buzzed by a few times but didn't have a chance to land on any of our good food since we finished it all.
Free parking lot outside has lots of spaces. There's also an outdoor eating area if you want to enjoy the blazing sun during lunch. I'd come back again ☀️ Thanks for a nice first foodie visit.

The staff needs more training, I ordered two meals at the same time, one came out right away but the other came out about 20 minutes later.
