Nice take on Cajun Creole fare. Service swift and congenial. Quality good but missed the last 5% to be excellent, but improvisation of chef evident in recipes.

Love everything about this place, and everyone who works there! Service, atmosphere, energy, food, drinks, accommodations - all top tier. Bonus points if you have Taylor as your server, you will not be disappointed.

I recently dined at Lagniappe with several of my friends for a special dinner before my wedding. The atmosphere was really nice, elevated enough to be a “fancy” dining experience but not too formal to feel stuffy.
The food was AMAZING! I got the shrimp
and grits and it was so delicious. Like actually so delicious it could make a grown man cry. I also got the pistachio ricotta cake and a nice mocktail - both were fresh, not overly sweet, and full of flavor.
The service however, was not ideal. Our server seemed easily frazzled and almost frustrated by pretty normal requests (asking about gluten free options, seeing a drink menu, etc). It definitely distracted from the overall experience and was not very welcoming.
Kid-friendliness: They have high chairs available and coloring pages/kids menus.

Big restaurant with lots of seating options but very loud. Menu is reasonably priced and has many choices. Service was good. Our appetizer was amazing (smoked salmon), but our entrees and dessert fell short. Wish it could’ve been better!

We had great food and great service on our first dinner visit. The huge tables for four made conversation difficult with the accompanying restaurant racket, so we would prefer a booth if we return. My complaint is that the hostess, the first person we saw as we walked in, was not welcoming or friendly. When we left, she was looking down (at her phone?) and did say a word to us even though we said good night to her. This attitude is what one would expect at a fast food restaurant, not at a fine dining restaurant. We may return, but this experience would not be my first choice to repeat.

We dinned at Lagniappe Tuesday night 2/25. They hit a HOME RUN. We had a large group of 14 but Brian Grimly was able to reserve 4 tables for us. When we arrived, Emma had arranged the tables so our group was at one large table in a large room. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the large table was a wonderful surprise. Everything else was spectacular as well. Laina our server was gracious and efficient and the food was exceptional. Fish, pork chop, gumbo was well prepared and delicious. One of our group had NY Strip Steak and it was done perfectly and she said it was the best steak she ever had. I want to thank Emma, Laina and Brian Grimly for accommodating our pickleball group from Kitty Hawk NC and making it a memorable evening for us. Highly recommended!

Management, food and service was bad.Our only disappointment on our vacation to Amelia island was this restaurant. Started with finding out they only had two choices without gluten. Then waitress climbed over my wife in the booth to set the steak knife. My wife had steak, I had shrimp Mac n cheese. Both were not good. Mac n cheese lacked flavor, had crunchy things that weren't edible. So we politely asked to talked to a manager, we shared our disappointment. He then took 5 minutes to tell us how we were wrong and did nothing to acknowledge our bad experience. Do not go there.
Dietary restrictions: They only have 2 choices without gluten.

We are on vacation and the hotel concierge recommended this restaurant. I can not recommend that anyone eats at Lagniappe. We had a reservation and were sat quickly. The table was next to the bathrooms and the bar, not an ideal spot, but we figured it would be fine. The wait staff gathered around the bar while waiting for drinks for their tables and gossiped loudly while they waited. When we ordered our food, I asked our waitress what items on the menu were gluten-free due to an allergy. She gave me one option. When I asked, "You only have one option?" She responded well, maybe the steaks, too. I asked what the special catch of the day is and she responded "It's that one fish with the big teeth." I ended up ordering a steak and my husband ordered the shrimp mac and cheese. It came out quick enough, but the steak was tough and difficult to chew, the potatoes tasted like they were made earlier in the day and warmed up and the asparagus was tough and woody. I ate 4 bites of steak (hoping that the meat in the middle would be better), 1 bite of potato and 1 bite of asparagus before I pushed it away. My husband's dish was mediocre at best. We let the waitress know that we didn't enjoy the food and she did nothing to rectify the problem so we requested to talk to a manager. We let him know what we didn't like about our meals and he proceeded to tell us why we were wrong. According to him my asparagus could not possibly be woody because it was fresh and brought in daily. My husband's dish was also good according to him. There was no apology or trying to make it better for us. Just him telling us we were wrong. We were not offered a discount for the terrible food, but he did offer to box it up for us. I'm sure it sitting around for a day wasn't going to make it better. If you're going to spend this much money on a meal, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. There are plenty of amazing places nearby that have excellent food, impeccable service and value their customers. Lagniappe has none of those qualities.
Dietary restrictions: This is not a safe place for people with food allergies.

We had a very special group night planned and were visiting from all across the country. I had researched and found Lagniappe online and reached to see if we could get a special spot in the restaurant. Brian, the owner, reached back personally and said he could accommodate our group. (Note - it was during their busiest time of night for a group of 12) Our server, Jessica, was absolutely fabulous and so professional in her demeanor, her recommendations, her timing and her overall service. The BEST!
The food was memorable from the HUGE charcuterie board that served us all, to the seafood, the burata salad and certainly the peanut butter pie!!
Whenever we visit again, Lagniappe will be our stop for excellent food, atmosphere, service and an overall great time!! Thank you so much for caring so much about what you all do!

Maybe the best crab cake I've ever had. Really enjoyed dinner here. Right on the edge of fancy but still approachable. Great place for big family dinners or a date night. Really loved the cocktails too
