Nice staff and good fishing guides and clean room to stay i go 3 times a year to fish
Old Florida at its best! This is one of the finest fish camps I’ve ever stayed at. Bay City Lodge is clean, well-maintained, and offers full service with fuel, tackle, guide service, ice, fish cleaning, and excellent local information. ,The cabins were very nice, with freshly made beds and clean towels provided daily. During our stay, the restaurant served only breakfast, but Jody did an outstanding job. The menu was extensive and the food was delicious. She also took the time to share the rich history of Bay City Lodge and the surrounding area of Apalachicola. The owner, Jimmy, is a Vietnam veteran and a genuinely great guy. Johnny in the tackle shop was extremely helpful and super friendly. If you love that classic fish camp atmosphere, this place is a must. We’ll definitely be back. If you’re coming to fish in Apalachicola, Florida, Bay City Lodge is the place to stay!
Great laid back environment. Everyone is super friendly. We'll be back.
It's really nice for a fish camp. My wife and I came to stay a few days and have really enjoyed it. The staff are nice and rooms aren't fancy but they are clean. Easy boat ramp and docking with ice, gas, and bait all at one place
This place is a like a little slice of paradise run by some of the best folks you can find.
Location: Excellent geographically for fishing freshwater, brackish and saltwater species in the same day if desired. You'll see some truly beautiful country while you're doing it. Also an hour away from some fantastic beaches.
Lodging & Amenities: We stayed in a cabin with a furnished kitchen, living area, bathroom and 2 bedrooms that was 100 yards from our boat slip. We had everything that we needed, rooms were clean and the staff kept them that way while we were out fishing or at the beach. There are 2 boat launches on site and covered wet slips to park in during your stay. The bait shop kept live bait for us on site, the store had everything that you could need, and the restaurant had delicious food.
Staff: Our fishing guide (Rudy) was a local with unmatched knowledge of the area and species that we were targeting. He put us on the fish and helped us make some lifelong memories. Johnny and Todd who run the store were top notch guys who went overboard to make themselves available and ensure we had everything that we needed and let us borrow gear that we forgot. The owner, was on site and was there to get to know us personally and create a memorable experience for me and my family. I would rather be neighbors with this crew, but I will remain a lifelong customer based off of our experience.
Enjoyed.
Awesome little spot to have as a Basecamp for fishing! Quiet and homey. Would definitely recommend!

Amazing spot away from everything except nature and beauty. Loved it great spot!
Want peace, quiet, friendly fisherfolk, relaxation, and an amazing breakfast? This is your place.
I’ve read the negative comments, and they are easily summed up by the following. If your idea of ordering coffee includes “skim milk, double pump, cold foam”, this is probably not your cup of tea.
The only thing that could make this place better, is fully reopening the restaurant. Miss those days.
Not getting anything exciting or thrilling but what you do get is peace and quiet. Beautiful natural surroundings, stars are out at night, and gorgeous sunrises over the water. Fishing charter has some great captains that will take you right to the fish and guarantee you a good time if nothing else.
Noteworthy details: Not walking distance to anything

I didnt stay here. We left on the boat from here. All the people that work here are very nice and helpful. I enjoyed chatting with the folks about our day on the water and hearing what all they had to say. Definitely a welcoming place!
