Sadly we came on a rainy day and had to sit at the bar. Took an hour for tuna dip and crab claws. Bathroom totally nasty. Look at pictures for dust bunnies everywhere. Bathroom so nasty dirty. 2 good things.. the waitress Aunt Ash super kind.. and the food tasted great. Won't be back. Don't go on a rainy day . The picture with the vented door is caked with nastiness that lead to the kitchen

We enjoyed the atmosphere and the oysters. My husband and brother-in-law had the seafood gumbo. I thought it was pretty pricey for a bowl at $18.50 and they both said there was no seafood in it..just broth and rice a small pieces. Must have been scooped from the top as we see most people enjoyed it. They were very disappointed.
Very informal and the raw oysters are excellent (ours were from TX and wild caught). Friendly staff.

This is exactly what it says it is ! Yup , it's a hole in the wall with good food ! We had the shrimp basket as well as the oyster basket. Generous portions of fresh local shrimp & oysters were more than enough for us. Reasonable prices were a bonus !

Awesomeness on steroids! Simple ingredients, well prepared and presented with a virtual hug. Kindness flows from every corner of this place.
First the good. Wife's grouper basket was great. Folks there were friendly. I enjoyed the hole in the wall old ambiance of the place. My shrimp basket was tasty but the shrimp were pretty small. I decided we needed some oysters as well so we got a dozen with garlic parm. These things were the smallest oysters I've ever seen. About the size of a nickel maybe a few the size of a quarter. $23! She had a Coke and I had a water and we got out of there for $80 for lunch with tax and tip. Oh, I forgot I almost fell off my stool when they popped those oysters into the microwave behind the bar for about five minutes. Not sure if that step shrunk them or not but that was an eye opening first for me.

Fried oysters were super savory, not too masked by the breading, not overcooked. Fries similarly were substantial so as to taste like potato, not like "fried," yet not very thirst-provoking (for fries). Hush puppies were also excellent.

My FAVORITE local haunt every time I hide away in Apalach...the new owner is AMAZING, and it was wonderful to see the old crew in the kitchen...the food is great (thanks for that hushpuppy tip) and it always feels like HOME when you stop by and hang out. Did I mention it has the best Key Lime anywhere in town? LOVE YOU FOLKS! Thanks for making our recent vacation something special. Can't wait to come back again soon...
