A huge disappointment. My pork loin was like leather. My wife's fish (gouper) was tough. She had trouble cutting it with a knife.

We had a reservation. When we arrived we were told we would have to wait. There were three empty tables we could see. We sat for a minute and I went back and waited for some time before someone came and I asked if we had a reservation why did we have to wait. She looked up the reservation and took us to a table.

They had no Jack Daniels!!

We had to wait for everything. Service was very slow. They were not busy in the cafe. There was a large party in another section of the Gibson. That should not have caused the Franklin to fall to pieces.

I hate to write this review. We had high hopes that this would be worth the wait and the price. It wasn't. This should be a gold star 5 star restaurant. Maybe new management can turn it into what it should be.

While the restaurant does have outdoor seating and does state that they are dog friendly, the staff informed us when we arrived that the outdoor seating was not being served today. The waitress stated that they were understaffed.

Had a pleasant dinner with my wife and daughter for my wife's birthday. Our server, Sara was great. She was attentive, helpful and made us feel like enjoying our dinner was the most important task for the evening.

I had the stuffed flounder. Crab was good, the fish was a little over done.

The restaurant had a charming decor and the wine selection was the best I have seen so far in this part of Florida.

I recommend this restaurant.

We went in so excited as our friend raved about their breakfast, unfortunately it was a lunch only menu and not only was it VERY pricey, but it was extremely limited choices with what we decided on not being available (pot pie). The burger was cooked well instead of med. rare and the chicken was dry and over cooked. The pregnant waitress obviously didn't want to be there as she kept sighing and kinda moping around... But only a few times because we couldn't find her to get more water, condiments or even our check which was $70 for a salad, burger and chicken sandwich. Worst money ever spent and sad it wasn't a pleasant experience, as we made a long day trip there.

The most disappointing and overpriced meal I and my party of 3 have ever experienced. We were expecting a decently cooked Christmas Day dinner with our entree choices of turkey and red snapper. Didn’t matter what we ordered - what we got was food that was tasteless, overcooked, tough, and frankly inedible. In addition, it took 40 minutes for our drinks to get to the table and we waited over an hour for the food. The first course was a tiny portion of chowder and a microscopic piece of toast or a salad with no dressing. Dessert was supposedly cheesecake with chopped peppermints on top. It was horrible as well. We paid $80 each (gratuity was already added) and left hungry - a sadder and wiser group. We will never go there again.

I met a friend at the Franklin Cafe today to catch up after a long hiatus. We met at 2 o'clock for a late lunch, and only the brunch menu was available. I ordered the crab cakes, and my friend ordered a toasted pimento cheese sandwich. Both were disappointing. I couldn't tell if the crab cakes had any actual crab meat in them. I ate one and left the other on my plate (a first for me). My friend's sandwich came with wonderfully toasted bread, but the pimento cheese inside was still cold. I won't be going back, which is a disappointment because we used to visit the Franklin for all of our special occasions.

Ordered traditional Eggs Benedict, was not great. The hollandaise sauce was broken and there was way too much arugula. Coffee and service were good. Gave it another chance but will not be back for brunch.

Danitza was fantastic! The Inn is beautiful as always. We have been here several times in the past, but this times was even better than usual. We had the fish if the day, pork chop, pasta, steak, and eggplant. Everyone was very happy with their meal! We will definitely be returning!

I would rate this place as a 3.5. I got a 3 egg omlette and put smoked gouda, Applewood smoked bacon, and country ham in the omlette. I switched out the existing side for bacon. Then I ordered a Belgian Waffle a la carte. Overall I think it is worth your while to get the Breakfast Package if you are staying at the Gibson Inn.
