The Back Room Steakhouse

Service was very good. The food was exceptional. The escargot was delicious. Made it away. I've never had before. The porterhouse steak was done perfectly. 

The food as always was delicious! Love the entertainment! Management and staff are the best!

Excellent place to eat and so close to Mount Dora. Main courses were fabulous (beef tips and blackened scallops), so was the Paso Robles cabernet, tomatoes in the caprese salad weren't up to the Back Room's usual standards. Still it deserves 5 stars and we enjoyed the singer. Great ambiance.

First time visit 11/7/25. Started out with the Smoked Old Fashion & Back Room Caipirinha, Twin Crabcakes, Beef Eggrolls., and two half salads. Moved on with two 16oz rib eyes, and a few sides. Everything was ooooh - delish! We are picky when it comes to steaks and these rib eyes were seasoned perfectly. Perfect temperature and YES - thank you Chef for not being afraid to put seasoning on a steak! Emily was our server and she was exceptional. My caesar salad came with dressing mixed in when I requested the dressing to be on the side. Emily was so apologetic and super sweet, and offered a fresh salad with dressing on the side, but I politely declined. The fact that she offered and even removed it from the bill -- thank you Emily, for taking care of your customers. We are in the hospitality industry and appreciate exceptional service. She was very attentive and personable. Shout out to the bussers -- we noticed that there were a couple of associates walking around and cleared out empty plates and refilling our water glasses immediately. We'll be back very soon.

I only heard about this restaurant on IG even though its been open since 2001!! I must say the menu had a lot of my favorites so it was so hard to choose. I finally decided on the ribeye and my husband the porterthouse. Cooked & seasoned to perfection! Their broccoli au gratin was the best I ever had. And the drinks were pretty good! Our server Ms. Olivia was so informative & attentive the best!!

I have eaten at this place a few timea for magical dinning and it was delicious. Last night we had the ribeye and lamb but he lacked flavor. We Oscared the steak and the crab meat was minced and sweet which did not taste good. Usually, it large pieces of crab. Overall the food was okay but it has lost flavor over the years. The service was good but the food was okay not bad just okay.

All the tables surround a bar so there is no getting away from the noise but if you don't mind that atmosphere, it's a great place to dine!

I dont understand what the hype is all about but the food i ordered was below average at best I ordered the steak well done it was practically raw , the vegetables were raw not steamed or cooked at all, the app was drowning in grease inedible

Always a top grade experience in this place. The owner, Ed really knows what he's doing and he recruits the very best people. Food drinks, atmosphere and service are all top-notch. Naomi is a quality server. Ask for her if you can.

My husband and I came to The Backroom to celebrate our fourth wedding anniversary, and it couldn’t have been more perfect! This spot holds a special place in our hearts since we also celebrated our first anniversary here — and once again, they exceeded every expectation.

From the moment we walked in, the service was exceptional. The staff was warm, attentive, and genuinely made us feel special. The atmosphere was cozy and elegant, perfect for an intimate evening.

The food was absolutely phenomenal — from the perfectly cooked steak topped with crab and asparagus to the creamy truffle mac & cheese and flavorful Brussels sprouts. Every bite was spot on. The cocktails were just as impressive — beautifully crafted and delicious!

What made the night even more memorable was meeting another couple also celebrating their fourth anniversary — such a fun coincidence that added to the experience!

It’s rare to find a restaurant that delivers consistently amazing food, drinks, and service, but The Backroom does just that. Thank you for another wonderful anniversary — we’ll definitely be back for many more celebrations to come!

Celebrated my birthday last night at the Backroom for the second year in a row! We love this restaurant and all the staff!! Such a great place!

Stumbled upon this jem. Great menu and cute dining room without all the fuss of high end steak houses. Hard to pick appetizer because all looked great. Food was really AMAZING and our server Cierra was fantastic. Definitely will be back.

Hadn't been in while - Food / drinks and service were good but prices have definitely increased and the value it used to be in years past. If I'm paying $75 for a steak I shouldn't have to ask for complementary bread.

I finally found a restaurant with an authentic ceasar salad with the anchovies. My Ribeye was so succulent I could cut it with a butter knife. Loved the ambiance. Definitely recommend this restaurant.
