The Twisted Crab Auburndale

I ordered coconut shrimp, fries & ice tea & my friends ordered regular shrimp & fish baskets. My tea was weak & not great. We were the only customers there but it still took forever to get our food. My fries came but no shrimp. Everyone else got their orders but my coconut shrimp did not show up until everyone else was almost finished. Then the coconut shrimp was NOT like coconut shrimp I had ever seen. It was breaded & stuck together with a honey like substance poured on top. I said, “That’s not what I ordered.” She insisted it was coconut shrimp but it wasn’t. I said I couldn’t eat that but she said that’s what I ordered & that’s their coconut shrimp & offered no substitute. I tried to eat it but I had to take all the goey sweet coating off it. There was no coconut on it. So, I didn’t eat much. We will never go back to this restaurant.

It may look like nobody is there and it was pretty empty but don’t let that deter you from going. The food is absolutely phenomenal and the amount of food you get for the price is incredible! Definitely will be coming back.

We love the twisted crab!! The food is always great, good service and a very clean and pleasant atmosphere! Don’t know why more people haven’t found this hidden gem!!

We are from out of town and when we pulled in, 5pm on a Sunday, we only saw 2 cars and were concerned. Read others reviews and started the truck to leave then decided to just stay. It was dead/ we were the only ones inside but it was good having the place to ourselves, walked my 3yold nephew around while we waited on our food. Lots of call in / pick up orders.

Now the food... I been to tons of seafood places bein born n raised in Florida... but this ish here!!! ??? had the snow crab, headless shrimp and lobster tail with twisted sauce mild with potato and corn... everything was delicious and cooked the right amount. Crab legs snapped easily and meat pulled out easily, lobster was amazing... everything tasted fabulous!!! Highly recommend!

Everything was great, we were a little concerned when there wasn’t anyone in the place but everything was delicious. Service was great. Only beer and wine though..

Went last night to celebrate three birthdays and the service and food was excellent. We had one pound of the headless you peel large shrimp, crab legs, corn, potatoes and sausage. Everything tasted great, we really enjoyed the restaurant atmosphere and friendly staff. Thanks for a nice evening!

Just not a fan of the way the seafood is cooked/steamed.We did a T5 meal of blue crab, snow crab, sausage, potato and corn.It was watery and had too much oil/butter.We requested Old Bay seasoning, but it didn’t really taste of it.It ended upsetting my kids stomach and he threw up.I guess we much prefer a different style of steaming/cooking.We gave it a shot and probably won’t do it again.

We have driven by this restaurant many times so I wanted to try it. I don't usually leave bad reviews, but having said that here goes.We went at 7:30pm on a monday, the place was empty.There was one man at a table and a couple at the bar.The servers did not speak very clear Engish, but were very nice.When our food came it was a real disappointment. My crab cakes were mushy and the onion rings were greasy. My husband said his shrimp and fries were ok. However he had to take a tums when we got home.We will not return nor recommend this place to anyone!!!There are much better places to eat in Auburndale and Winterhaven.

It's a fun, casual environment great with friends or family. We did big family boil; the crab and potatoes and mussels and clams were great, shrimp and crayfish was a little work (to remove shells) but good, and the corn on the cob was a little over cooked. This beer select was a little limited and the fun drinks were good.

My friend took me here for my first seafood boil and I have to say this place was great! The shrimp, snow crab, and blue crabs were well seasoned and tasted fresh. Service was very friendly and were great on refills. We went in around 4 on a Monday so it was pretty slow. The fried catfish was well seasoned and battered as well. If you’re in the area I highly recommend!

Stopped in cause this place looked yummy. Had some great seafood. I love crawfish.. there's were a little hard to open, but still yum. I got medium sauce, but it tasted mild. Should've gotten hot! It filled me up. Not disappointed.

2 lbs of Boiled Crawfish at a good price. Very tasty. I will go back soon.
