6/8/25 finally made it here. It's been on my list for a year or so. Heard good things about the food from my local friends. I read several reviews and decided on the steak fajitas. The meat was really good and flavorful, had the slight char on it that just kicks it up a level. The onions and peppers were great too. Comes with 6 corn tortillas. Plus refried beans and rice. Reminder to self: ask for beans instead of refried.
My friend got a burrito (comes with rf beans and rice) she really liked it.
We got a slice of tres leches cake, it was really good and a nice size too.
Plenty of drink choices in the refrigerators. And on the store side, in the back, are the beer fridges.
Friendly ladies behind the counter. I look forward to returning soon.

The fact that I waited 15- 20 mins for a quesadilla and 1 chk taco is beyond me and on top of that the food wasn't great. Side note: stop putting lettuce and tomatoes on your quesadilla. Will not go again.

Taqueria Merlo is a hidden gem! The quality and portions of the authentic Mexican food here are fantastic.
On the other side of the restaurant, there’s a small local market stocked with fresh produce and essential items.

Bad attitude from the staff, they don't serve quickly, they spend time talking to each other, they serve you whenever they want
Mixed on my food order. Purchased chicken enchilada and beef enchilada dinners. Both of them were delicious, full of flavor. Mole sauce on the chicken was incredible. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the 2 tamales. Both of them were dry and burnt. Unfortunately I couldn't communicate well with the employee on the phone. I asked for no beans with the chicken enchilada and double rice. I received a standard order of rice and beans.
