Fish really sucked tonight!
Chicken is much better during lunch hour.
Cole slaw dry as a bone.
In town for the night and would have been better off going to Perkins.

Hard to get fresh chicken most of the time it's refried and hard but when it's fresh it's the best.
I came here based off of a friend’s recommendation for the first time and experienced nothing but obscene attitude, along with disrespect towards my family. As much as the food is good, I definitely will not be returning. First and last time for me & the people I brought.

Lots of activity in front of Tom's Chicken Shack today! If you are this close you better go get some of that Amazing Chicken! Tom's is an institution here in Bartow and can't be missed.

First time stopping in and immediately noticed how steep the prices were 😳, but I ordered anyway (bc treat yo’self, ya know?). I love fried gizzards and thought I’d try theirs. The gizzards were tender but could have been a bit more seasoned in my opinion. There were also a lot tough pieces which sucks because they’re inedible and included in the weight. I could understand getting 2 or 3 tough pieces in a 1/2lb but there were quite a few. When raw you can usually tell which pieces will be tough by color so I’m not sure why they’re not picked out. I don’t regret stopping by, but will continue to go to CC&F in Lakeland because their gizzards NEVER miss. *chef’s kiss*

The food is delicious. The drive through is antiquated, so that is a slow process.

I am 42 years old, and a FL native, spending a great deal of time in GA and the Carolinas as a youn'g. When I travel, I look for 3 things:
1. Fried Chicken (not counting wings; gimme dark meat or a well fried breast please and thank you)
2. Shrimp 'n' Grits
3. Biscuits n gravy
I am in no way suggesting I've tried all the fried chicken in the South (I hope to accomplish this one day).
But...DAMN these dudes at Tom's can COOK SOME CHICKEN!!! My biggest complaint is that I have to drive 90min to get it, which I (hand to god) seriously consider EVERY WEEKEND.
Only reason I left 4 stars for atmosphere is because there was no shade on the patio (gotta let ya'll know somehow, right?).
Otherwise, in my experience, which encompasses no less than 120 fried chicken spots, you all got something special. Much love, and I want to talk franchise or somethin cause this needs to be in my city.

This place is absolutely BANGING! banging. Take that to the bank. I cannot tell you enough how Josiah and his team take 7minutes (they got a system) to make the best chicken sandwich I’ve had in my life. I’m a country boy and I eat. The combination of speed and taste here makes this gem hidden in the middle of nowhere off highway 17 a mandatory stop.
Chicken sandwich 10/10
Coleslaw 7.8/10
