Sadly it isn’t what it used to be. The best items are no longer on the menu. Now it’s just a very average spot with a nice view.

We loved South beach Grille. The food was great. The pasta is sneaky good and I had USDA Choice Cheeseburger that we was fantastic. The view is outstanding as the only restaurant on Boca Grande on the beach. great atmosphere for beach dining.

Dined here many times pre and post Hurricane Ian. Plus: Restaurant is actually situated on a beautiful beach with amazing views. Minus: Food and service are inconsistent. Most recent visit an out-of-town visitor ordered grouper special. Very small cut of grouper for the price. We often dine with multiple couples. South Beach is one of the only dining venues on the island or mainland that absolutely refuses to split group checks. Management states they will cooperate with group-sharing, but beware.

The service is always great and friendly. Great beach view and good food. The specials are always very good. A fun atmosphere and really good beach bar vibe. It’s always a great experience.

My food was delivered, and as I was attempting to eat a French fry, a large iguana jumped in my lap and grabbed the fry. I screamed, as did others on the screened porch. Our server apologized for the issue. However, the manager never came over…which surprised me. Apparently this has happened before, but nothing done to prevent reoccurrence. These critters carry disease and should not be in a restaurant…wonder what’s in the kitchen.

Visited during the day. Staff was great, view was great, food was terrible. All four dishes tasted like bad seafood smells, and we didn’t have sea food. To be clear, we like sea food. 2x orders of guac and salsa, 2x chicken Caesar wraps all tasted like bad crab smells. Was also pretty expensive for the poor quality. The location is beautiful, the food just has a lot of catching up to do.

We were hanging on the beach and got hungry. This restaurant is right on the beach and very convenient. We were seated right away outside on their covered porch. The waitress came over after we were sitting for a bit. We ordered two beers and split the grouper tacos. The tacos came out very fast and were delicious. Definitely could have used more fries for $27 for two tacos. Unfortunately we didn’t get our beers until we were half done. The waitress didn’t apologize. She just said that happens when people order drinks and food at the same time. She forgets to put in the drinks. Umm ok. So the service could definitely be better. But the food is tasty and the view is gorgeous.

"You're welcome" our waitress (aka Gabriela534) said as she walked off after not so politely dropping the bill on the table. What she meant was we were welcome for her delivering the absolute worst customer service I ever experienced in my 60 years on the planet. So here is my "thanks" to you, Gabriela534, for your rude and condescending behavior. Our party of four are in unanimous agreement that you have no business in a publicly-facing role. I give South Beach Bar and Grille five stars for terrible service, a snobby atmosphere, watered down drinks and mouse-sized portions. So, if you want to be treated like crap and have money to burn, I highly recommend this place. We won't be back. P.S., if you think I'm whining, take a few minutes and scroll down to read recent reviews from other patrons. Should raise an eyebrow. Oh, and you're welcome.

It was my first time to eat here. My Grouper Reuben was delicious! Our waiter was very courteous!! I just loved my experience! My friend brought me because it is a favorite place for her. I will return with my husband. Just loved the place!

This was a horrible experience. We were a group of 8 ladies just wanting a lunch with a view. The manager owner was so rude we decided to take our business elsewhere.

Horrible experience. The body lingo of the owner and a staff member upon entering the restaurant were already prejudging our group. You could see the smirks on their faces as we (a group of eight) walked up towards the bar. The owner was so harshly rude that he used my service dog as a pawn to sabotage our experience. He called us liars even after showing him a photo from my phone the service dog certificate with my animal and I receiving it. He was very unprofessional and reckless by saying to us, if I were you, I wouldn’t want to eat here. This statement was proof that we were being profiled as we entered the restaurant. The owner basically was saying ‘get out of here’! We asked to speak to the manager that’s when we learned that he was the manager and owner. In short the owner profiled us, denied our rights to have a service animal even after we shared with him that he has a sign posted outside on the building beside the entrance door and he wanted to intentionally ruin our experience by any means necessary by denying us service to eat at this restaurant. DO NOT EAT HERE!! There are plenty of other good restaurants with a beautiful view to enjoy.

I have a disability and was chased down by old white lady and told that my dog doesn’t look like a service dog. He’s an Australian shepherd one of the smartest known dogs. I had a Brian injury a stutter and seizures. She embarrassed me in front of entire restaurant and asked my entire medical history. I would never support horrible people that don’t know compassion for people who are lucky to have animals to keep them

We drove 39 minutes to get here. The welcoming was cold. The man who welcomed us said that we could not bring our own water bottles (I had a Pellegrino bottle in my hand), so my husband took the bottle to the car. We sat and felt so uncomfortable that we decided to leave. It’s like a high end restaurant but the information online presented a more reasonable place and happy vibe.

We politely said goodbye and left. Even an order similar to fish and chips is about $30-$32 dollars. After paying $6 dollars to cross the bridge and the drive to get here we would not recommend this place. We were disappointed with the atmosphere but we cannot speak about the food since we didn’t eat here. For me the atmosphere must match the food flavors.

I hope by reading this review the restaurant will improve their customer service and how they welcome all.

Host/ Owner named Bart was mean and rude before we ever said a thing ! I’ve never experienced such a reception. He was arguing loudly with another patron and he kicked them out ! My young guests were shocked and uncomfortable with this and we left after sitting at our table for at least 10 minutes before any wait staff came over . We never had any staff acknowledge us. We usually love this place . Not sure what is going on. All I can say is “ wow”
