Closing after 30 years is sad!! Best NewYork/ Washington DC style Chinese food in south Florida Shame no one is buying the place an it's cherished recipes

I wish I would have noticed Geoffrey K's review before stopping here, but I missed it. Initially we wanted to eat at a different restaurant in the mall, but due to the heavy downpour, their outdoor tables were soaked and inside was cramped. With limited options in the mall, we decided to stop here. Should have heeded the reviews and the largely empty tables during a relatively busy time at other spots. Service: Negative stars are not an option, but in all my reviews and visits to restaurants as an adult: this place ranks pretty much at the very bottom. Impossible to find a server. When one does show up, its with such poor attitude that you feel like they don't want you as a customer. It is the most insane treatment and attitude to have as a restaurant. Orders for brown rice: ignored. Request for salt and pepper: ignored. Food: Maybe one can overcome rude and bad service if food was out of this world. But even that's not the case here. First of all, the menu is nothing special and even leaves out many popular asian dishes. The prices are way over the top for the quantity and quality presented. $22 for beef entries and $19 for most chicken entrees. Are you kidding me? Again if you are serving high quality ingredients, maybe, but that's not the case here. Throw in the fact that one meal arrived cold and it becomes a bad experience. The only item that was ok was the Hot and Sour soup, but then again I have comparable ones from a cheap buffet. Overall: Dropping $100 on a meal for two and walking away "MAD" is not a pleasant experience. Traveling for business is not a glamorous life, so after a long day at work, its nice to have a decent meal and a beer. This place took that away from us. We would have been better off finding a Panda Express: better food! I am sure at some point this place was hitting all the notes, but seems that the owners just don't care anymore. My coworker didn't eat most of her meal and told the waiter it was bad. No one bothered to stop by to ask why and even attempt to remedy the situation. We will be staying in the area for a while on a project and this place missed the chance for quite a bit of repeat business.

Uncle Tai's is a well established Chinese restaurant located in Boca Raton. The weather was nice and we sat outside to enjoy our lunch. They have lunch menu on the weekend as well. We ended up ordering from the dinner as well since lunch didn't have fish option. We ordered shrimp dumplings steamed, these were really good and I would order this against. The hot and spicy shrimp entree was just ok, it had a tangy sweet and spicy taste instead. The fried rice were good since they were not very oily like other Chinese restaurants. (But they don't cook them in soy sauce, so if you want that, then ask the server while you order). The sliced fish in Szechuan sauce was really good and flavorful. I like this restaurant and the quick/efficient service. Good place to eat Chinese food if your looking for a proper sit down sort of place instead of Chinese pick up. ~

My favorite restaurant. They serve one delicious dish after another. I often travel all the way from County Line Rd to get a bite here. They serve food you can't live without.

Food is very good and so is the quality. Service is also good. I've gone here for lunch and dinner I usually order the compound chicken. What I don't like is this place is very quite. Almost need to whisper with the person your eating with. They should add some background music. Even if it's light. No ambiance, just an awkward silence.

Acceptable; not amazing. Americanized upscale Chinese with a few less common items to round out the menu. Service was perfectly fine. Rice was excellent (I'm a rice snob); crispy beef was uninspired; tofu vegetable soup had good variety and quality vegetables.

Beware!!! Save your money. Run the other way! Horrible, horrible service. Rude, condescending & the most anti-customer service restaurant I've ever been to. The tables are on top of eachother, they allow smoking while you're eating, and it takes 20minutes to even take a drink order? The waiter, the hostess & the manager all were argumentative & acted like they don't want our business. The service is snail pace slow, and the menu is very plain/basic Chinese. Read the negative reviews they have...all say the same thing (bad, slow service & food is terrible) If you don't want to waste your money & time, or be treated poorly, while eating overpriced Chinese food stay clear of Uncle Tai.

Came here for a Sunday night dinner, party of 12. The service and food was very good all around. The menu selection could be a bit better as it's missing some of the classic Chinese restaurant appetizers and dishes. I wish they offered the Pu Pu Platter for 2 baby! The Crispy Whole Fish was very good, disregard the price and just order it, you will be pleased.

We go there because it is top ten Chinese restaurant, BUT , We were so disappointed. Price is way too high, food is too salty, Waitress has no services. This is not a Chinese restaurant, it is American style Chinese restaurant. For a lunch plate, six shrimps, $19. Definitely over charged. Never never ever go there again.

Service wasn't very friendly or good other han the hostess who was lovely. They gave ya an issue for paying more for brown rice instead of white. Sauces way too sweet. I've lived in Boca for years and haven't tried this place but everywhere else was full so gave it a try and won't be back.

This review is for a takeout order we made. It was not good at all. The food was very greasy. Fried rice, quality and taste were not good. Hot and sour soup, super greasy, vegetable spring roll...was not what we ordered. I would not recommend takeout again from Uncle Tai's. Much better experience when you eat in.

Gorgeous location and beautiful facility. I wish the food was less salty and more tasty. We did the early bird special and even that was quite costly. Good service and pretty ambiance. Food left me personally bloated and disappointed.

3 stars? Not a chance. This is the best Chinese food we've had in Florida. In the land of low quality take out joints this is a rare gem. Yes it's a little pricey but not crazy. High end old world ambiance and very attentive service. Everything was excellent except for the tasty but too greasy spring rolls. The house wonton soup was excellent with real stock not bright yellow soup base. All excellent were the chicken with cashew nuts, uncle Tai's crispy orange beef, & the szechaun pork. Fried rice was nice and light, not greasy.
