Tarpon Lodge is almost an hour drive, but finally decided to try it. It was a beautiful setting--the lodge, grounds, right on the water. We sat inside, but with a perfect view of the sunset. Our waiter was attentive and polite. One ordered the crab soup and crab cakes. The soup was delicious; she wasn't thrilled with the crab cakes (they looked fantastic). Beautiful sunset view while eating the best food around! We started by sharing a cup of the Blue Crab corn chowder—a must have! Shared an appetizer of crab and avocado that was also to die for. Our dinners were Wagyu steak and seafood pasta. Absolutely amazing—everything was fantastic! Our server would get 10 stars if I could. Carol knew everything we needed to know about the must haves since we had never been here. She also paired perfect wines with our dinners. In the end...
For a Friday night, a week before Halloween, it was very quiet. We had the pick of a table for two and we chose to sit near the window to watch the beautiful sunset. The starter bread was unbelievably delicious and we started with the charcuterrie board. I had a salad with blackened chicken for my meal with a red sangria and my husband had the crab cakes. So delicious. We were celebrating our anniversary so they offered us a dessert on the house. We ordered the caramel cheesecake....
