I’ve been coming here for years, and it still feels like coming home. I grew up part of my life in Texas (ages 17–34), and finding real, honest Mexican food in Naples can be tougher than you’d think. But Maria’s Tacos in Bonita Springs — this is the real deal.
Tonight we had gorditas, tostadas, and tamales to start, and for dinner I went with posole. If you don’t know posole, it’s a traditional corn-and-chicken stew with cabbage — the kind of comfort food that warms you from the inside out and makes you feel at home no matter where you are.
They also make an authentic mole that’s hard to find anywhere around here. My son had the mole tonight, and it was spot-on: deep, complex, and clearly made from scratch.
Everything here is made in-house — the beans, the sauces, the masa — no canned nacho cheese, no shortcuts. This isn’t fast-food “Mexican.” It’s the kind of food made for people who really love Mexican cuisine, not just the idea of it.
Maria’s has been part of the Bonita Springs community since around 1992, in an area that was once a strong center of Mexican-American life. Though the neighborhood has changed over the years, this restaurant hasn’t — it’s held onto the same authenticity, family warmth, and home-cooked flavor that made it a local favorite from the start.
If you want authentic Mexican comfort food, skip the fancy spots in Naples and head north to Bonita Springs. The locals already know — this is the place.

I just ate at Maria’s Mexican Restaurant and it was so good! I always leave completely satisfied. The food is authentic, the prices are great, and the atmosphere feels so welcoming. Our server, Lusmy, was wonderful and made the experience even better. Highly recommend!

We had such a wonderful experience at Maria’s Restaurant! Lusmy was our server and she was absolutely amazing — so friendly and attentive the entire time. We even had the pleasure of meeting Maria herself, and she was just as warm and welcoming. Everyone went above and beyond for us; they even kept the restaurant open a little later so we could finish our meal comfortably.
As regulars, we’re always treated like family here, and tonight was no exception. The food was delicious as always, and to top it off, they surprised us with some complimentary flan at the end — such a sweet gesture!
Maria’s is one of those rare places where the people, food, and atmosphere all make you feel right at home. Highly recommend! ❤️

Overpriced $53 for 4 tacos a quesadilla for my 4 year old and a burrito. Walked in no one greeted me. Meat in burrito and tacos was dry and flavorless. Go to el gran taco loco or taco pancho instead

One of the best taco places we have ever been too. We travel a lot and always need to try out taco's everywhere we go. We have high taco standers because of the 100's of places we have tried but this place is easy in the top 3.
I live in Europe and the thing I miss the most from my USA trips is Maria's Taco Tuesday's. Go on Tuesday (1$ a taco!) and be on time because they sell out and you will want more, fun atmosphere (often live music) and you order at the counter and get served pretty fast at your tables.
I don't have the need to travel back to America but if I would go back I would go for Maria's Taco's and they don't even know who I am but I love Maria's.

Taco Tuesday is the only thing to have survived inflation. Always a favorite and worth the trip. Tacos are great. Al Pastor and Carnitas are my go to. Get a solid Elote here too.

Ohhh my goodness!! We’ve tried many taco places in Naples/Bonita Springs and this one by far made the top of the list! We went for taco Tuesday and carnitas, al pastor, chicken, and chorizo were 1$!!! The portion of meat was huge and the service was so quick! It beats me how they make money and we had 20 tacos in maybe 5mins. A spectacular restaurant and such a fun environment! Thank you Maria’s :))
