We almost skipped Tanglewood after seeing the 3.2 rating (sep 25’), but we’re glad we didn’t. Our dinner was excellent from start to finish. We tried the chicken wings, the deviled eggs, and a salad — everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. They even brought us bread and butter to start, which was simple but delicious.

The service was attentive and kind, nothing like what we expected from such a low rating. Honestly, our experience doesn’t match a 3.2 restaurant at all — it deserves better hence this review. And no one asked me to write it. If you’re on the fence because of the reviews, give it a try. We left very happy and will definitely come back.

Great service, bland food, burnt chicken. Inedible. Black breading and impossible to chew. Good drinks, though.

Ate Dinner here first night. The restaurant is really pretty but the food was not very good. I ordered the mushroom ravioli's and I think they did a white bean base and corn on top none of it went together. My. Husband's ribs were pre cooked so the flavor was not very good and the fried chicken had some sort of breading th.At was soggy and weird maybe like stuffing. We loved the hotel but they do need to work on the dinner food in this restaurant.

The food was horrible and highly priced. $30 for dry chicken and Mac n cheese that looked and tasted reheated from yesterday. We were asked when booking if we were celebrating we said a birthday. Never mentioned. We ordered wine not asked if we wanted the 5 or 9 oz and were charged 9 oz.

Order the fig burger medium it came out well done. The flavors were over powered by what was supposed to be goat cheese but it wasn't goat more of a soft blue cheese with putter casing still left on. Kids pizza tasted like a box pizza huge portion two kids could easily share. One of our kids didn't like it. We didn't either. My husband got there 70 hour fries chicken, no flavor. The pork Mac-n-cheese, chef needs to learn balance of too much heavy cream to -cheese ratio! We didn't bother ordering desserts.

We went here for a week for the breakfast buffet while staying here. I'm lucky I didn't have to pay for it since it's definitely not worth the $30 plus additional for lattes, etc. The waitresses seem very apathetic and not happy to be there. But the worst is the older woman who is the hostess, she has zero sense of urgency, let's the line pile up when there are plenty of open tables that are active. Then she takes guests out of order for no good reason. This place is not great for a resort like this, they really should just retrain the whole front of house staff. The food was ok, but definetly not worth the money, the only thing that was good was the omelet chef.

Visited for the breakfast buffet. I love ❤️ breakfast buffets, specially when they have made to order omelette stations. Unfortunately, this one let me down a little bit. The pancakes for example didn’t taste fresh. They tasted if a back stack was made and left out. I believe this is because they left them out on a serving wood cutting type board instead of placing them in a chaffing container with lid. They had offerings like potatoes like, scrambled eggs, bacon and chicken sausage. I ordered a custom egg white omelette with ham. I asked for olive oil rather than vegetable oil. It was nice and fresh, just a too much oil used. I like a fine coat of the pan, when it was served the my plate had oil below the omelette. But the lady was friendly and service was fast. She was cooking 4 at a time and was very impressive. 3 of us had it and all notice the oil thing. But I will tell you it was still good. The side dishes like sausage and pancakes were a let down. potatoes were a little on the colder side. The service was great, they kept our table clean and offered juices and refreshment. I will skip this buffet next time I am in town. Not terrible but ok. Parking is validated but they messed up on mine and had to pay 10.00 bucks. Manager later agreed to reimburse me but got tied up and couldn’t return.

The buffet breakfast at the Tanglewood Restaurant was complete and the food was tasty and excellent. This was one of my best breakfast dining experience at the Hyatt Regency level. The chef Richard McCaw is excellent and very personable. The food is well seasoned and delicious. I had the Braised Short Rib for dinner and it was slowly cooked and very tender. This by far was the best Braised Short Rib that I ever had. It was served with cooked greens and buttery mashed potatoes. The manager Luke and the staff were friendly and very accommodating. I can't wait to come back to this restaurant. I can't wait to come back and visit.

I ordered the Shrimp and Grits for dinner. There is no resemblance to the traditional flavors of this meal. The shrimp were cooked perfectly but they sat atop, what I would describe, as a bland purple rice pilaf. My husband ordered the fried chicken sandwich and the chicken only lasted halfway through the sandwich before all that was left was the breading. My daughter's buttered noodles were flavorless. The bread and trio of complimentary butters were delicious.

We enjoyed the breakfast at the Hyatt Regency the day we had a conference at the resort. My son and I to have breakfast early and it was great. We ordered the Avocado Toast, Omelette and Country Breakfast. The service was fast and the food was great. It’s a bit expensive but overall it’s a very nice breakfast.

We went back for a second time the following day and had a similar experience. Great food and great people!!

Immediately seated upon arrival. Water and drink requests came within minutes. Appetizers, including gluten free, arrived quickly. Then after a short time dinner orders came out of the kitchen. The food, and there was a variety, was excellent. Given plenty of time to eat and relax until a dessert request was made. Overall, a very nice dining experience.

Fantastic Dining Experience – Highly Recommend!

I recently had the pleasure of dining here and I have to say, it was a truly delightful experience. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with just the right blend of elegance and comfort.

The ALLIGATOR JAMBALAYA was a burst of flavor, clearly prepared with passion and attention. Everything was cooked to perfection. The Espresso martini from ALEX @ Mangroves bar was out of this world!

But what truly set this visit apart was the exceptional service. Our server, MYLA was attentive, friendly, and genuinely made me feel welcome. I dined alone, which can be anxiety provoking but she anticipated my needs without being intrusive, made excellent menu recommendations, and ensured my glass was never empty. It’s rare to find a team so dedicated to creating a memorable dining experience.

If you’re looking for a place with great food and service that makes you feel like a valued guest, Tanglewood should be at the top of your list. I can’t wait to return!

May 4, 2025: I have never walked out of a restaurant in my life, but we did so at the Tanglewood. We arrived on time yet were asked to wait 20 minutes despite a fairly empty restaurant. We were promptly seated when we returned only to sit at our table another 20 minutes before our server finally greeted us apologizing with menus and waters. Another 20 minutes passed before her return with some bread and a promise she would be back in a few minutes to take our order. That was the last we saw of her or anyone. When the table closest to us (who arrived when we got our bread) got their meals we had enough and got up and left. We waited for over an hour and never even placed our order. There was no manager or hostess at the desk, nor did anyone stop by even after we asked another waitress for help. For the reputation the Hyatt has. this is embarrassing, worst service we have ever encountered.
