Updating my 5 star review from 2021 to 2.5 stars Dec 2025. This restaurant must have a new owner. The food quality and friendliness has really gone down. Except for the seemingly manager who greeted us when we arrived, the only male working today. He was at the grill and training someone.
Our server was friendly enough. However, I asked for real butter and she brought more fake butter spread. Didn't provide a bill.( they weren't busy ay 10:30 a.m.) Tuesday. The person who was at the register Lenette, was pretty rude to guest getting a take out order.(the mother of a cancer patient receiving chemo down the road, she had the bright green name label on her shirt) Told us the price of the bill, but we couldn't check it as it was written in short hand or another language.
Food was not what it used to be. We love waffle house for friendliness and hot food. This one failed.

There was a lady that was in the booth next to us. Her food came out and she started eating. The Waitress came over to check on her and she started screaming that the chicken sausage was pork. She said she could taste it. Then she threatened the waitress that if she gets sick it’s going to be a problem. Then she said her eggs weren’t fresh. Girl, they make EVERYTHING fresh to order. She got up, made a scene then started to beg to pay for the food she ate. The lady at the register was so kind and sweet. Reassuring her that no mistakes were made and her food was fresh. She said if you didn’t enjoy your meal, you do not have to pay. She then said she was going to leave a review. Well I also wanted to leave a review to praise the staff for being so professional with dealing with that annoying Women.

On vacation down here for 6 days, we came here twice for breakfast. The food was excellent and the staff was so friendly and attentive. It was awesome watching their cooking operation, everyone playing a part and crushing it. When we come back to SWFL, we’ll absolutely stop back in!

Evidently waffle house has changed its waffle recipe. They used to be a little crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside. Now they're like pancakes with squares. I love waffle house but it has been like this the last 2 times we've been there. Server didn't seem like she was enjoying being there either.

Usually a great experience except once so far when it was a shift change and the girl taking over for our waitress halfway thru our meal couldn't care less about checking on us. But Lorna has been a great waitress ever since that day and we love her attitude and smile!!!
