My wife and me went to this location a few weeks ago. We don't go much but the chicken has been great in the past but not the last couple of visits. When we visited this location, it started with the girls up front. No enthusiasm, almost seemed like we were bothering them to order food from their establishment. After ordering we got out food and the chicken was not great. Tasted dry and the Mac and cheese was not to be desired. The final insult was I was going to get some sweet tea and they were out. I asked the manager if there was more and he said they were out and didn't want to make more because they would have to throw it away if it wasn't dranked. I'm like fine whatever, but my whole time he was chatting with customers. No problem people talk to customers when they work all the time, but he seemed more interested in talking than working. Just didn't seem to care about people that wanted to pay to have good food and service. And the worst thing is a lot of restaurants have become like this. Employees don't care about what they serve and how their customers feel. That fine I can stay home and cook. I'm starting to find out I'm not a bad cook after all.

Well what can i say.....since am super active 5 days of gym and 2 days of cardio,you really want some real protein.
This chicken provides all the protein i need and not only that.......it taste soooooo good 😋

It's awesome 👌 always fresh, always delicious 😋 family owned and operated. What more do you need. I almost look forward to getting sick so I can get their delicious homemade chicken and rice soup and begin to feel it work. Love their wraps. Any of them! Definitely worth checking out!

We had a good experience ordering take out from Basil’s. They are known for their chicken, so of course, that’s what we ordered. We ended up getting a salad and a pita chicken wrap. The chicken was great, well-seasoned and flavorful, and the mac n cheese side that we ordered was good too. The salad portion was generous, although the wrap was a bit smaller than expected. Menu prices are still fair and reasonable though. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. They answered all of our questions and gave great recommendations. They do have several gluten-free options if that’s what you’re also looking for. In terms of the place itself, the atmosphere is pretty basic, but they have plenty of seating if you’re looking to eat in for a good meal. Overall, this was a great place for a quick order-at-the-counter meal, and we would recommend for anyone looking for great chicken!

My husband and I ate here today and it was the best food I have had since I moved here 7 months ago. The chicken was so flavorful, the best mashed potato’s and gravy, and Mac&Cheese. My husband said it was the best Gyro he has had. We can’t wait to eat here again!

If you’re going to Basil’s, go for one reason: the chicken. The atmosphere is pretty basic, nothing fancy or memorable, but it gets the job done if you’re just looking for a good meal.
Menu prices are fair, and portions are straightforward. With the two-piece, you’ll get a thigh and a leg; the three-piece adds a wing. The sides? They're okay. Tasty enough, but clearly not the star of the show. You’ll get maybe a couple ounces, so don’t come expecting a full Southern spread.
Now back to that chicken…this is where Basil’s shines. The grilled flavor is authentic and absolutely delicious. Skip the barbecue sauce…it actually takes away from the flavor instead of adding to it. Trust what they’re doing with the seasoning and grilling. You won’t regret it.
All in all, if you're craving some solid grilled chicken, Basil’s is worth a stop. Just don’t expect atmosphere or gourmet sides. It’s all about that perfectly seasoned chicken.

Bradenton's Hidden Gem!
As a regular customer (4-6 times monthly), Basil's on Manatee Ave has become my go-to spot for consistently excellent food. My team from Centurion Web Design eats here often too, which speaks volumes about the quality and service.
Their gyro is absolutely perfect - generous portion, perfectly seasoned meat, and fresh ingredients that make it one of the best in the area.
The hot wings are a must-try! They're flame-broiled rather than fried, giving them a unique flavor that sets them apart from typical wing spots. The mild seasoning is just right - flavorful without overwhelming heat.
I always pair my order with their mac and cheese, which has the perfect consistency - never runny, always satisfying. For sides, don't miss their Greek salad, which complements the gyro beautifully.
The BBQ ribs deserve special mention - tender and flavorful. And save room for the baklava for dessert - it's the perfect sweet ending!
What truly makes Basil's exceptional is the service - I'd give them 10 stars if I could! The owners and staff treat you like family every visit. The welcoming atmosphere combined with more than reasonable prices keeps me coming back week after week.
Whether dining in or taking out (I usually do takeout), the quality and service never disappoint. If you haven't tried Basil's yet, you're missing out on one of Bradenton's finest family-owned restaurants!
