The place to go for breakfast

William Thompson

We visit First Watch restaurants regularly whether in the Dallas area, LWR, or Bradenton. We find that the menus are identical with excellent food and friendly staff. I would recommend this chain to anyone wanting to have an inexpensive breakfast or lunch.

I must say Diane was awesome she was friendly, smile, ask how we were doing. Also check up on us often. Man this lady was working multiple positions at the same time , host , greeter, waiter for several tables and the check out person. She’s been working with the company 5 years so big up to her. The food was hot and tasty with flavor🔥🔥🔥 we had the Scrimp & Grits special with a Kale tonic with a boost.

Absolutely love this breakfast spot! Totally impressed with their menu and atmosphere. Extensive and very creative menu, with a charming and extremely clean and fresh space. As a breakfast server of many years, I can say this is a 5 star place to start the day. I will definitely frequent this wonderful establishment monthly.

Been going to first watch all my life. The spring menu has a soCal Hash that takes the Gold. The management staff is very attentive and the serving staff is on point.

The service was good, but our otherwise congenial server didn't ask if we'd been there before (I had not) or offer to help us navigate the menu--until (pointing out my eventual choice) only after 10 minutes of not finding a sweet/savory option. He pointed out the two combos at the top I had managed to miss as he said, "...up here where everybody seems to miss it."

Note: Your purposely highlighted menu items do not stand out from the rest of the menu. Of course, this issue could have been avoided if my server (very pleasant guy) had initiated a convo about the menu at first visit.

The food arrived timely and well plated, except for the obviously broken/almost hard-fried "over easy" eggs i had ordered. My server didn't deliver them, so I couldn't fault him. I do fault the expo as no broken yolk (which, again, was evident by the hard yellow line across the yolk) could EVER pass for OE. I only had to wait about 3 minutes from the time i finished my tasty, large (not enormous) pancake until the new perfectly-cooked OE eggs arrived, so no biggie. However, it is not encouraging to hear from your server he had to help the kitchen understand what OE means. I slid the new eggs into my home fries bowl where i had already crumbled my side-order (2 pieces) of well-cooked bacon and broke the runny yolks over the mix. Tasty.

But, when I am paying $27/head for breakfast, I expect it to be PERFECT--which this was not. Another example: the silverware, though of nice quality, was water-spotted. If you are going to ask for all the money, you need to go the extra mile and polish your silverware. If I had ordered this to go, I would be livid based on the overdone eggs alone.

My $27/head included a 20% gratuity, which is the minimum I will tip w/o speaking to a manager. But the ridiculous base cost of food, the expectation for another 27-32% added for tax/tip, and the invariably-mediocre quality/delivery of the product leads me to cook for myself at home.

Service was great but I’m confused why a breakfast place doesn’t know how to cook an over easy egg. I sent my food back because my over easy egg was completely over cooked. When they were remade they were more overcooked than the first time. I finally said never mind my meal and watched the others in my group eat. You would think a manager would have at least visited the table but no one did. Loved my fresh juice with lavender.

They offer alot of healthier options but if your into a basic breakfast it might come off as pricey.

Excellent food. Excellent, friendly staff. Jack Reilly at the 53/Lockwood location is an AWESOME server. Very attentive, and good memory for what the customer ordered in the past. We always ask to be seated at his table now. Great breakfast menu. I have ZERO interest in going to any other breakfast place! The food quality at First Watch is predictable and always excellent. I hate paying good money to eat out but at First Watch I never worry about paying for bad food. It is always good! The periodic menu specials which change a few times a year, are creative and delicious!

Ordered my food online at 11:20am for an 11:45am pick up. My boyfriend was doing me a favor of picking it up for me since he got off work early. He arrived at 11:45a on the dot. He asked for the order and it was not ready yet according to the host. He waited 17 minutes before he asked for a status update on the order. They told him that someone else picked up the food by accident, then asked if he wanted the order to be made and if so it will take another 15 minutes to make. I would have asked for a refund and taken my business elsewhere. My lunch break is from 12:00-12:30p, it is another 15 min drive to my work location. My break will be long over before my food arrives. Super disappointed.
