McGrath's Irish Ale House

We were at the St. Patrick’s Day Festival and ordered $60 worth of drinks from McGraths. When we went to sit down to enjoy our drinks outside, we were unceremoniously told we could not sit down. I normally would not mind. However, we patronized them and there were multiple open tables with no one waiting to be seated to eat. We also had a. 88 year old in tow who could have benefited from the five minutes to sip his drink. This is a terrible business model to take people’s money and not allow them to sit to enjoy their beverages. All of our beverages were inside of McGraths cups, too. I’ve been at this event last year and it was packed. This year it was empty during the day in comparison to last year, which indicates to me that their behavior was spiteful and not based on demand. Especially since there were others who were only sipping drinks at the outdoor tables. Why we were treated differently is beyond me. When my husband went inside to understand the logic

Happy St. Patrick's Day. I chose the restaurant for their ability to handle a group of 42. They did an excellent job! Great service and great food. I would highly recommend McGrath's.

Our go to for Thursday night eat out with our gang. You can't beat their smash burger specials served with a side for $6-$8. Add in 1/2 price drafts or well drinks and its a deal that can't be beat! Plenty of seating inside and out and the staff is fantastic. For a cheap night out, you can't go wrong at McGrath's.

The spinach artichoke dip and bread pudding are incredible. Everything else is kind of sub par. We waited awhile for a table when the restaurant was mostly empty. It took even longer to get glasses of water. Our waitress came back to ask if we wanted to order more even though we hadn’t received our appetizer that we ordered with drinks. Our food basically came at the same time even though we ordered the app the moment we walked in. We also noticed every table is filthy. There was a cup of coffee at an empty table next to us that sat there the entire 1.5hours we were there waiting. They sat multiple people at dirty tables. Food is fine, but the service and atmosphere could really use some help.

I love the bang bang shrimp and the flatbreads. The staff is lovely, if occasionally a little slow. McGraths is dog friendly and the outdoor seating is terrific.

We had heard the name McGraths a few times in conversations so we decided to try them on a busy Saturday afternoon in LWR. When we walked I immeadity noticed that the resurant was really beginning to show signs of age and high traffic. After waiting at least 10 minutes for a hostes to even apear, which caused a big pile up of guests at the front door, I noticed something else which should have been a red flag. Not one employee was smiling or looked like they were enjoying working there. even as we peeked around to the bar area and made eye contact with the bar tender to try to let them know there were guests waiting to be seated, we received a misserable stare back from the person behind the bar. After being seated and looking around I found that 1) the resturant was less than half full. 2) The resturant was in pretty bad shape and decore. 3) Our server was very frantic and with little efficency which lead to poor service all the way around. We waited a long period of time for drinks, food orders and refills. When our food arrived we had 4 people in our party and half of the food orders were over cooked. Then we had to wait again, another long period of time for our check. All 4 of us were dissapointed in what we witnessed from a resturant which was only half full. All in All, Food was mediocre, service was poor and the condition was poor. I have a feeling this place is on its way out. LWR can do better!

Went for Smash Burger Thursday. Saw online before going that the website said, "Our signature Smash Burgers are a pressed beef patty stuffed with chopped onions." I'm not a fan of onions, so I called ahead to see if they could be made without onions, and the hostess quickly and assuredly said, "Yes." Unfortunately, that was not the case, so I wasn't the biggest fan. (If I hadn't seen it online, the onions weren't listed on the menu description which I found kind of odd because I'm guessing there are others who may not like onions, either!)

The burgers were kind of dry with not enough cheese- not your typical greasy smash burger! They have a decent brioche bun that could be even better if toasted!

It was still a good deal, but I would opt for something else on the menu if I return. Note that all burgers are a dollar higher than the website listed at $5/6/7.

The potato wedge fries were delicious, though!

The food is the only thing that saves this review at all. Burgers are decent and the wings are good. Atmosphere is loud and the service was terrible. Our server joshua was absent. We had to ask for our kids food because it was never even submitted to the kitchen, not even asked if we wanted refills on drinks until we were ready to leave when our table was walked by numerous times. It's a shame this was our second time here and the first time was OK but this was terrible. Some of the worst service my family and I have had in quite some time. Plenty of attention was given to all the patrons around us and I don't like being made to feel like my money is any less valuable than the next. More than likely won't return. Many other options in the area with much better service.

This place used to be charming and special. It was full of texture and provenance and now… it looks like a diner. There aren’t even any window treatments anymore. There used to be a beautiful front door and all sorts of tartan. Now it’s lifeless.
