Very disappointed with the service. Hardly came to ask how the food was or if we needed anything. Had to ask for bread a couple of times. We were celebrating an anniversary and couldn't even offer a complimentary dessert. Applebee's does that. Added 20% gratuity on total bill included tax. Doubt that we will go back

Always amazing…best place in Bradenton.
Get the beer and cheese soup and the “Amanda” appetizer…you will not be disappointed. Great bourbon selection as well

My husband and I drove to this restaurant from downtown Sarasota and we arrived there around 8 pm with no reservation and we got a table right away. Our service was absolutely impeccable with our server Jasmine. We had the steak tips medium rare with the mashed potatoes and creamed spinach and the signature “Gary” chopped steak with the mushrooms and onions. The portions were absolutely huge, and everything came out piping hot which was amazing and the flavors were excellent as well. The steak was definitely high-quality. The only thing that was not very good was the dirty, Caesar salad. The description sounded way better than it was. The lettuce wasn’t very cold….The olives should have been sliced instead of large whole olives, and it could’ve used more crumbled cheese. Our dinner’s were so amazing, so we were completely satisfied and happy. Again, our server, Jasmine was a pleasure as well as her assistant. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

The food was good and the waitstaff was amazing. The maintenance of the interior needs to be addressed. I don't like seeing dust on the ceiling vents and areas that need to be painted.
Excellent 5 Star food, service & ambience as always! No matter if we are going for beverages and appetizers or the full 3-4 course experience, MJ's never disappoints. We like the laid-back service approach of not pushing their specials or certain dishes but will provide recommendations should you ask. Whether it's a casual night out or a special occasion, MJ's is one of our favorite go to restaurants!!!

Dennis was our waiter and he was THE BEST! The food was beautiful and tasty. Very high quality. The music was soft and relaxing. The owner came over to say hello. I will be going back soon. This was the perfect place for a soothing evening. I loved it!

Absolutely the best food I have had. Everything was amazing. The staff were also very friendly and quirky (but still professional), something we enjoyed very much.
One of our favorite spots.

My partner and I wanted to do a staycation in Bradenton. We simply wanted to do something simple but fun with our baby girl. We booked a room and made reservations for Michael John's restaurant. I had Googled 5 star restaurants, and this pulled up on the second on the list but had more reviews than the first on the list. We had a later reservation (past our baby's bedtime) because they were booked, but I did not want to miss the opportunity. Pulling up to the restaurant, it was well lit. It was actually not as spacious inside, which led me to know it is more of a private setting. The service was good. My mocktail was good, and the food was great. We will certainly come back another time.

I cannot recommend this place. This is not a $250+ quality dinner or service for 2 people. First, they didnt have my reservation, but at 5:30 no one was there. It says it's a "French-American..." and out of approx 100btls of wine, they had ONE french wine (approx$65); 90% california wines, several Italian?wines. 1 app, split a cesaer salad that tasted like mayonnaise, ribeye was disappointing but cooked right, beef tips were tender and cooked right but over all too salty dish, on top of a pile of mashed and veggies not really cooked properly on top. 2 servers and we had to ask for water refills, they poured first glass of wine only. 2 solid hours as other tables came and we waited for our main meal. Weirdly not upscale except in price. Was looking forward to it, my son just moved next door.

Loved this place! The waiters and waitresses were spot on..The food was superb, and the atmosphere was great. Only one small problem. It was our anniversary and my daughter called ahead and ordered and paid for a bottle of wine to be at the table when we arrived for a surprise. Well it was not there and we knew nothing about it until we were paying our bill. Although they ruined our daughters surprise they did make good on the bottle we had ordered! We will definitely be back. This is a wonderful restaurant
