This is supposed to be “bourbon chicken” ….I cannot eat another bite of whatever this meat is. It is 100% absolutely NOT CHICKEN.

I’ll leave eating real American-Chinese food to being on vacation NOT in the state of Florida, because not a single item of it here is even close to being edible.

Has not much to do with Chinese food. All was sweet, even if we ordered spicy. Maybe there was Bbq-Sauce on it…? Not at all our taste! Sorry! I‘m nice with 3 Stars

You missed the Mark this time, Shanghai. We’ve been visiting your restaurant regularly since 2021, Never with an issue. Tonight, we were shorted on an order of three spring rolls as it states on your DoorDash order option, and we are also missing an egg roll from a combo meal that you offer, and you won’t do anything about it. You’ve offered me a credit for the one egg roll and not giving me a spring roll at all when it clearly states you get three spring rolls in the order. I don’t like spending money for items I’m not getting. The value just wasn’t there this time. Here’s a picture of what I ordered, and a picture of what I received in the brown bag. No egg roll, two spring rolls instead of three, And then you tell me I should’ve only gotten one spring roll and the other one was replacing my egg roll. If there’s a typo on your DoorDash list, you need to get it corrected so that people know what you’re going to give them for that price. Had I known it was $2.95 for only one spring roll, and that you were going to replace my egg roll in my combo meal with a spring roll, I would’ve reconsidered my order. Then when I call you for what’s missing and you don’t want to do anything about it except say sorry and credit me next time for an egg roll? That’s a no-no.

Shanghai Chinese Restaurant is a true hidden gem! The food is always fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. From the savory dumplings to the crispy General Tso’s chicken and their rich, authentic noodle dishes, every plate comes out hot and delicious. Portions are generous, prices are fair, and the menu has something for everyone.

Great food but word to the wise. This is a 2 person operation so don't be in a hurry. Call your order in before you arrive. The food is fresh and portions are generous...love this place

The sesame chicken is great, the bourbon chicken was not, couldn’t tell if the chicken was actually chicken it tasted so different and off from the great bourbon chicken you get at another Chinese restaurant (one in utc mall) night and day difference between the taste

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. The food was completely tasteless. My order did not come with any cutlery nor any sauce; not even one.

Carryout , the was good for a carryout restaurant. The EFY could have been fuller with more pork and other vegetables. The pepper beef was good.

Always fresh, flavorful, and made just right.

Shanghai Chinese Food Takeout in Bradenton is a staple for me. The food is consistently hot, fresh, and packed with flavor—never greasy or bland.

My go-to order: shrimp egg foo young, sautéed broccoli (small), and shrimp fried rice with added bean sprouts and egg. They get it right every time. I also love that they offer different portion sizes—you’re not forced into oversized combos like at other spots.

They are closed on Tuesdays, which is a little unusual, but trust me: the food is worth scheduling around. It’s a bit on the pricey side, yes—but the quality, customization options, and consistent flavor make it well worth it.

One of the best Chinese takeout spots in Bradenton, hands down

First, This is probably the best Chinese I’ve had. Second, every time we order our huge family orders to go, it’s always perfect. I don’t leave reviews but this place is really good.

Have had far better Chinese food. Very bland. My wife could not even taste the teriyaki in the teriyaki chicken. My Mongolian beef would have been fine if the onions weren’t practically raw. The fried rice had no taste whatsoever.

Extremely clean establishment. The food never misses. The only great Chinese we've found since moving to Florida. Fresh ingredients and generous portions. We've yet to order something that wasn't delicious.
