The experience that we had deserves 100 stars! After walking around Lakewood Ranch, we walked into Sofia's a little after 8PM on a slow Tuesday evening. We were warmly greeted by Chef Angelo and our waiter Thomas and essentially treated like royalty! After asking us what we liked to eat, Chef Angelo served us personally, the most amazing veal chop, prawns, and salmon as part of a three course meal. The service was amazing but allowed for conversation, and the food was delicious. The combination of the food, atmosphere, and exceptional service make Sofia's a go-to for us in the future. An unexpected but truly exceptional gem. Thank you Chef Angelo!

Outstanding experience! I took my wife here for her 60th birthday and I reserved the chef’s table. We were in a smaller room with great atmosphere. Chef Angelo was the real deal- attentive, charming, and amazing food. The pasta was prepped in front of us on top of a round of Parmesan. The tomahawk steak was sliced at our table. Chef ordered for us. Memorable amazing experience!

This restaurant deserves 100 stars. The combination of exceptional service, warm atmosphere, delicious food, and all the intangibles make this a go-to for us in the future! We weren't expecting to be treated so well and so personally on a slow Tuesday evening, but received an experience that a food critic would dream about! Chef Angelo made us a delicious 3 course meal (Veal chop, Prawns, salmon) and our waiter Thomas made sure sure that everything was perfect. I highly recommend this restaurant experience to anyone!
Sofia's in short was disappointing. The website build-up is promising. Touting itself as Mediterranean was appealing, but alas misleading. Typical Italian is more descriptive. The online menu also had attractive selections. One could even overlook the higher prices if a gourmet experience were forthcoming. But it was not. The food was average at best, with very little creativity. And the waitstaff has yet to learn how to help customers have an enjoyable experience. Sofia's is new to this particular neighborhood. IMO, the management has yet to decide what its identity is -- who are their target clientele, what level of cuisine and at what price and in what atmosphere do they aspire to provide. 'Nuff said...
We had an absolutely delightful dinner at Sophia's in Lakewood Ranch. The escargot and cheese bowl pasta were outstanding and left me craving for more. Tomas, our waiter, made our special anniversary dinner truly memorable with his impeccable service. A big thank you to owner/chef Angelo for creating such a fantastic culinary experience. It was a night to remember!

My wife and I ate dinner at Sofia’s located on Main Street Lakewood Ranch. The meal and service from Chef/Owner Angelo was FANTASTIC!! Highly recommend it. A gratitude of thanks also to Chef Jeremy & his wife Shawna. They are friends of Chef Angelo. They came in for dinner. They saw immediately that Chef Angelo and his staff were getting overwhelmed as there were so many people in for dinner. They jumped immediately in to action with Chef Jeremy going to help prepare dinners and Shawna helping the wait staff. WHAT GREAT FRIENDS!!
Chef Angelo is great! Makes you feel welcomed and totally at home. Angelo’s cooking is just perfect-the menu, combination of flavors, presentation-all is excellent!

We had a wonderful dinner at Sofia’s! Angelo, the owner and head chef, created some delicious dishes. We started with the Marybeth and Horiatiki (not shown) salads. The watermelon and candied walnuts in the Marybeth salad made for a nice nutty and light contrast.Continued with entrees of Salmon Limoncello, Meatball Special, Chicken Limoncello (not shown) and Mussels Guazetto. The salmon was cooked perfectly and gave an almost “buttery” texture! Amazing. Then, we were treated with a homemade frozen Limoncello dessert! With the addition of wine, we had a perfect dinner!! Thanks Angelo!!

Our 1st time visiting this restaurant as just moved to the area. It was a quiet Monday evening during the off-peak, but Chef Angelo greeted us as we were being seated and when he heard it was our 1st visit, he lit up and you could tell he wanted it to be a special experience. He cooks right there in an open kitchen next to the dining area, and you can see how much enjoyment he gets from creating a wonderful meal for his guests. He created a "special" seafood meal for us that was not on the menu or specials list, and it was fantastic! He was also making all the other guests feel special as he delivered meals to the tables and checked on their satisfaction, etc. The service by Brianna was also excellent. By far the best meal and service we have had as we explore this new area. We will be back!
What a great anniversary dinner! From the food to the experience it was all wonderful. The owner is the head chef and he was so personable and greeted everyone. He even invited us for a complimentary dessert tasting which was amazing. Sofia was our server and she was the sweetest!! Definitely will be going back!
This is Italian dining at its best. The owner, servers, chefs, and other staff make the whole dinner a delightful social experience. The food is terrific, and the service is both impeccable and relaxed, making you feel like an old friend. Kind of like "Cheers" but more upscale, of course, and solidly Italian cuisine. In short, I haven't felt this good about a restaurant in a long time. These folks do it right!
A wonderful experience with chef Angelo cooking Sunday dinner right in front of us! The multi courses presented started with a plate of antipasti, followed by a small beef rib and meatball, then a large sharable meatball in a tasty red sauce. After that we were treated fabulous seafood stew over rice with mussels, salmon, scallops, Calamari. Thinking there couldn't possibly be more, a pasta in sauce arrived. The dessert included cherry and banana slices, whipped cream in a martini glass.Truly a fantastic event with Angelo keeping the food coming to each table. You should experience this! Will be back.
