The owner Lucy is such a lovely and warm person. The food is the best in Town and the atmosphere is so relaxing and fun…highly recommend Takos Cantina!

First time eating I drove all the way from New Tampa to come to this restaurant on a recommendation from a friend from work my food was okay my wife loved her plates my son ordered three tacos and it was on edible the meat was overcooked I ordered the steak fajita the meat was very hard to chew overall I will not return to the restaurant.

I very rarely leave reviews. This place was exceptional! We moved to Sarasota a few years ago by way of Denver, CO. We love living here, but often we long for our favorite Mexican restaurant, Los dos Potrillos, (Centennial, CO). We have run the gamut on trying to find our new favorite local Mexican restaurant and I think we just did!The ambiance is lovely, very clean and comfortable. The service was super; efficient and so friendly. Chips, salsa, queso dip, table-side guacamole YUM. Exceptional margs and the draft beer ice cold. Food was delicious and they have everything on the menu that we have been longing for…except pork green chili, but that’s a Colorado thing, so we can let that slide. ?Thanks for a great experience Takos Cantina - we will back again…maybe even today. lol

First time eating here and we absolutely LOVE this place! We’ve eaten at a lot of Mexican restaurants and this is by far our favorite. The service was wonderful, the food was by far the best Mexican food we have had, and the decor is beautiful.Sadly, it’s a little far from home to be a regular stop, but we will be back!

We were very pleasantly surprised at the improvements of our experience here! We went twice in the first month they opened and we were not impressed with the food or the service. But this time was quite different!I had a Caribbean bowl with shrimp that was very good. My son enjoyed the triple fajitas, and my husband enjoyed his Tres Amigos. The food was good and the salsa was spicy!Our only critiques now were that the refried beans were a bit on the runny side, and the fajitas were not sizzling, or even really hot, when they were brought to the table. But the food tasted good, there was plenty of it, and our server was attentive!Update 3/13/2024:It has been a while since we ate here. This time, we were not impressed with the food at all. The rice was flavorless, the refried beans were just as watery as last time, and the chimichanga was one of the worst I have ever had. The carnitas were decent. The service was good, and the atmosphere was good, but unless the food improves, it's hard to recommend.

Best place in LWR & in the area for authentic Mexican cuisine!!! The owner is always there greeting us with a smile, and always helping the extra staff. On taco Tuesday, the bar can be fully packed and we still receive great service. If I can give this a ten star review I would!!

Bartenders have no experience. Food is so so. When they had more experienced bar help, it was much better. Probably not gong there again.
Tonight’s experience was DISGUSTING !!!!!!!! Management and service team work on your customer service skills. Management you should be fired. Waited 40 mins for drinks and management could care less. I’ve never had this kind of experience. Will never step foot in this establishment. It’s unfortunate because it was a local spot that i enjoyed. But tonight was absolutely horrendous how we were treated.

This place can be good! However the last two times have been less than impressive! Last time they were so busy they brought out the wrong order but it took so long we didn’t say anything! Today I stopped in around 4:30. Not busy and sat at the bar. No one came over because they were too busy visiting! Decided to leave and no one even noticed! Not worth the hassle ☹️
