JoTo Japanese Steak House

Absolutely loved going here for dinner! The food was perfect and the service was amazing. I will be going back to this Japanese steakhouse again in the future.

I've been coming here for over twenty years, sadly this place isn't the same. We walked in for reservations for nine, no hostess. You have to walk to the bar, people look at you crosseyed when you ask if you can be seated. Thermostat in the restaurant showed 82 degrees. We sat for an hour with soup and drinks before we walked out for the very last time. We won't be back. Not to mention the place looks like it's stuck in the 80s.

Food portions have gotten smaller while prices remain the same. The last two times I have dined there I became sick.

Atmosphere isn’t anything special and very dreadful. Fish tank is not maintained and no fish in it.

Entire restaurant is very hot especially when chef starts cooking.

Waitress is okay but wouldn’t return just for that.

Will not return

Been going to this place for 25 years and it just isn't the same anymore, the service and quality have suffered greatly. RIP to my favorite hibachi place I have ever been to, Kobe was sad compared to how good Jotos of the past was.

We stopped by an hour before close and had a great experience. The server was very kind and quick, the food was delicious, and the chef was personable and fun. Having a casual hibachi restaurant around the corner is awesome.

They are extremely short-handed, so very loud, and the food is extremely salty (too much soy sauce on everything.) My salad was sitting in a pool of water. Our chef (the owner) was very distracted and even left our table twice. I will never go back.

This place is such a great spot the people are always so friendly! Love eating here it’s very authentic the owners are so welcoming and sweet!

The absolute worst service ever experienced there. Will not return ever again. They charge whatever prices they want. And the menu says one thing they charge more and say you didn’t get this but you got extra this. So you get higher prices because you don’t eat veggies they have.

Waited for a long time. Server kept saying a table would be ready for us very soon 3 times. Another family who came after us was served first. Awful experience. I would avoid this place.

Growing up in Brandon, going to JoTo was always a special treat. We have celebrated so many birthdays, graduations, and other special events here. We have always felt welcome and left eager for our next visit.

This restaurant used to be of exceptional quality. Things have changed for the worse, and I fear Covid has been especially difficult for this restaurant. Their soup and salad used to be something to look forward to before your meal. Their yum-yum sauce used to be perfect. Now, it tastes like mostly mayonnaise. Even the rice tasted unexciting and flavorless.

Our party of three came in for a reservation at 7:00, and we arrived not a minute late nor early. The other party of four had already been seated and was already finished with their soups and salads by the time we were seated, leaving us behind to play 'catch up'.

The most offensive thing about our meal tonight, however, was the service. Our hostess was very pleasant when we came in, but our waitress seemed agitated and made us feel uncomfortable. She did not even introduce herself to us when we sat down. I fear she may have been one of the only servers in the entire restaurant aside from the hostess who was also assisting tables.

I am reluctant to give this restaurant even three stars. I miss so much about the old restaurant. Like their now mostly empty fish tank, this restaurant is an empty shell of its former self.
