I got the Ox tail plate for 25.00... Truthfully it's not worth it at all. The tastiness of the ox tails is what got the meal a 3 and that's being nice. The yams(straight out of the can) the cabbage...was just that cabbage umph...and the rice was mushy...smh...The cornbread...hard and cold. Mama's soul food...get it together!
I was raised in the south... went with how my food was cooked when young. The sweet potatoes are like eating candy! So good! Nice rich dark gravy, fall off the bone cooked chicken! Now, the cabbage and butter beans were good, remember , we cooked it to death with bacon drippings...
The food here is delicious but the atmosphere is nothing special. The restaurant is just a window building with table and chairs and a kitchen. No particular style or theme or atmosphere. The service was all right. Again nothing that makes this place stand out. Will look forward to upgrades.
