My husband is a truck driver so we have had Jamaican food from many places. This place is faaaar the best place we've ever had!!! We ordered the ox tails, stewed beef, and spicy Jamaican patty. All full of flavor, meat super tender, and the patty flacky with the right amount of heat. They have excellent customer service as well. Love, love, love this place!! Will not disappoint!

I’ve been here a total of three times the first time my husband and I had dinner takeout oxtails, jerk, chicken We enjoyed it. The second time my husband and I ate there. It made both of us feel sick. Stomach cramping and on the toilet, this last time I went from myself I purchased oxtails mac & cheese, white rice with gravy, and I only ate half of it a small plate. I woke up cramps, feeling nauseous going to the bathroom. I will not be going there again I am done with it. The customer service is horrible. Every time I go in there I speak. The lady behind the counter says nothing that was reason and itself for me not to return there but I did because it’s in my neighborhood and it was convenient. A smile and a hello how can I help you is free.

Tropical rhythm is a vibe. If you love good tasting food, Jamaican style, I would definitely recommend. I go at least twice a week for the same vegetable patty, soursop juice, and small lunch with rice and pea, cabbage and plantain. I mean….The oxtails were full of F L A V O R. I pride this place for that much. They were also tinder && came as a nice portion size. HOWEVER, the Mac & cheese (NO SUH). It was full of bland. Couldn’t even taste the cheese flavor. The rice & peas, Lawd! Hard. Very much gave 3 days leftovers && dry & crunchy It’s oxtails or nothing. $17 for a small meal….I don’t plan on doing it again.

As a black man I've always struggled to understand why this simple little thing cannot be improved in a lot of our businesses. Good customer service! There's a lot of people that would excuse a bad food day, or subpar items on the menu if the customer service was rock solid. It's not hard at all, I work as a project manager and perform customer service daily with my clients. Not all of my projects go smoothly, as much as I wish they would, but people will give you the benefit of the doubt if they know that you are approachable and customer service oriented. I have not been to this restaurant in about 6 years; but for all the people knew on the inside, I was a brand new customer. Not only did they not greet me with a smile, welcome to the restaurant, thank you for spending your money to keep us in business, but the woman behind the counter had a look on her face like I was an annoyance. I told her that the food was either in my wife's name or mine, which seemed to confuse her for a moment, and rather than smile and ask me to say that again, she gave me a very irritated look. so the other woman at the cash register told me that it was in my wife's name, to which the more moody looking lady handed me my food without anything else being said. The lady at the cash register then took my money, and turned right to the next person without so much as a thank you.My people, it's not that hard! A simple smile, welcome to my restaurant, would you like anything else, in fact we have a special today, you know basic human interaction. And then after they spend their money, a thank you have a nice day please come again, could see the customer coming back. Look at your reviews for God's sake! The majority of the reviews that are negative is about the customer service. That's not hard to fix! It's not rocket science people, even if you're having a bad day learn to act. Smile even if it's fake and greet your damn customers! Tell them thank you for spending their money! It's silly to lose a business because of this foolishness.

I would never eat here again. I am Jamaican and really had a strong taste for Jamaican food while visiting Brandon, Florida for the first time. Since we are from out of town we purchased dinner here. I should have known it was a bad idea when the lady at the front didn't even say hello to us after we said hi to them. We were so hungry.... we ordered to-go... 2 orders of the jerk chicken. My 1yr old son was smiling at the lady at the register and she gave us extra stewed chicken to try it... I thanked her. When I got to the hotel that night to try the food omg I wanted to puke and we almost choked!!!! The jerk chicken was old, dry, hard, and rubbery. Can't chew that! The lady who gave us the stew chicken on the side was probably trying to compensate because she knew that the jerk chicken was bad. The rice was undercooked and hard to bite into. My 1-year-old son spit it out immediately. And he loves rice. The whole meal was absolutely disgusting and disappointing. Me and my husband both ended up getting sick! The baby got diarrhea. Smh ? If we stayed in town I would have returned it so could eat it themselves and they could see how disgusting it was!! Instead we had to throw it away at the hotel. Wasted $28.

Don't walk to this place, RUUUUNNNNN!! The food was amazing. Flavorful. Seasoned. They have small or large plates. The oxtails and jerk chicken amazing. The plantains were not sweet. They were hard. The Mac and cheese, add some salt and pepper, and you will be fine. Other than that the food is fabulous. Service was great. They even have freshly squeezed juices. Go check them out!!
