I'd eat there again just to try other items. Nice staff. Ribs had the mouth bite I expected (competition worthy) but, not to my taste for the rub and a bit dry. Slaw, they need to work on that.

This place is a gem of a find. Deep South BBQ was a stop on our way back from Crystal River to Disney. The previous reviews sold us on why we needed to stop here and as expected it blew us away. As folks from the UK we do not have places like this back home so we wanted to try what Florida had to offer when it came to BBQ.

A small rustic wooden building gave a great true florida feel, just off the highway, the minute you open the car door you can smell the BBQ. It has the small local feel and we followed two lae enforcement gentlemen in, when those boys go to the place you know its tasty. And they didnt go just for the donuts. They told us its one of their favourite places to eat. High praise.

From walking in the service was first class. Advised how and where to order straight away, friendly staff who could not do enough. A friendly welcome that was followed up throughout our visit.

We ordered the famous Brisket in a sandwich with 2 sides (Sandwich Platter) and a pulled Pork sandwich, as well as kids chicken tenders meal which came with fries and a drink.

A short 10 minute wait and our food was with us piping hot and beautifully cooked.

The brisket comes in 3 types depending on your liking, meatier, fattier or inbetween. I went for inbetween. It came in a potatoe bun packed with 1/4 of the best brisket I have ever had. If I could give 6 stars I would. Hell if I could give it 10, I would still give it 11.

The BBQ pulled pork, again served with a potatoe bun was also amazing. Succulent, tender and tasty as hell. Again 1/4lb of meat. Amazing. Again this gets the full stars and would give it more if I could.

The fries were crunkle cut, propper chips as we call them in the UK. The coulsaw side was home made and fresh too.

The kids meal was as expected, a kids meal of chicken tenders and fries. But our lad eat the lot, first time he has done that while he has been here. So a hit with him.

Overall great value for money and the best food we have had on our trip so far. We loved the feel of the place and the friendly staff and locals and it was defo the beat place to stop off.

Highly recommend. Deep South Family BBQ, never change, because you are doing it all right. If we come back to Florida we will again be making a special trip here.

Even if the customer service was bad I would go back just for the food. Some of the best bbq around. Drove almost an hour to go eat here. The service was like no other. And the food was better. Worth the trip and weight gain. Already want more. I had to let it cool down the food which I like it means it was just made. Will be back.

Very nice traditional family owned southern barbecue, we split 4 dinners among the 4 of us , the brisket and ribs are amazing, and we had one of every side except the coleslaw which they were out of, (fried pickles arent on the menu but you can still order them) it was my first time having fried okra and I loved it, they also have a nice range of sauces which are also amazing, the decor is simple but nice.

I have always liked this place and have stopped every time I’m near it, but this last time last week it was horrible! I was so disappointed! The ribs were so spicy I nearly choked on them right there in the restaurant it’s sad to say I will never go back.

Amazing local bbq spot - their brisket hits every time and their traditional sides are super well executed. I love getting a brisket sandwich, green beans, and then a peach fry pie.

Give this place a shot, you will be a repeat customer. Even today, the truck came late, they delivered an amazing dining experience and got fresh food out. Love the staff here!!
