Southern Hills Plantation Club

I play a lot of golf, and Southern Hills Plantation is one of my favorite courses. We stayed in the villas again this past weekend and had another great trip.

The course was in excellent condition, and I love the elevation changes. It's such a fun layout and not your typical Florida course. We always see plenty of wildlife, which is one of my favorite parts of playing here.

The villas are a steal for what you get. They're clean, comfortable, and make it easy to turn a couple of rounds into a relaxing golf weekend. The pool and fitness center are a nice bonus, and everyone in the clubhouse is always friendly and welcoming.

Southern Hills Plantation is one of Florida's hidden gems. We always look forward to coming back.

Very and peaceful. We only stayed one night while visiting family in the area. Needed two bedrooms and this was a great alternative to a hotel.

Nice, calm, very upscale community Clubhouse. Bar/lounge area isn't impressive but views are lovely.

Attended a company Christmas party for Cemex. Steamed veggies were BARELY steamed, think raw and cold. Staff struggled to keep food stocked and hot even though the dinner service was scheduled and limited. Only 2 choices for salad dressing (which they also struggled to keep stocked and the salad bowls were TEENY!) ranch and a vinaigrette (not even an Italian dressing). Overall, for the supposed event catering, 2 out of 5 stars and for what I am sure the company paid - VERY DISAPPOINTING!!

I had lunch at the clubhouse with a large group. The service and food was very good.

Conditions vary day to day based on the weather, but an overall solid layout. Don’t go too deep into the long grass, there are some nasty snakes in there.

I wanted to golf there as a guest with a member but my good time was cut short from the manager for the groundskeeping being very rude to guests and members I also saw him yelling and also being very rude to his staff I’m definitely not coming back now

If you ever get a chance to golf here, DO IT. Unlike any other course I’ve played in Florida. Very well kept. Fun track with plenty of elevation changes and scenery. Worth the drive from anywhere in the Tampa Bay Area.

Southern Hills is a beautiful place and challenging golf course. Enjoyed our 2 day stay in their convenient and comfortable villa.
