Sakura Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Bar

The food is great and the older host is great but the atmosphere could be dramatically improved! The place is dirty. I had to wipe down 3 chairs before my family and I sat down. Also, the younger hibachi chef who does not wear glasses, needs to practice better hygiene while cooking. He was talking way too much over the food while cooking, sweating profusely and then wiping his eyes with his hands. It nearly made me lose my appetite.

This was my son’s favorite restaurant to go to for dinner, his favorite was the fried rice, he loved the atmosphere and the restrooms too.

We drive by this place all the time going to other sushi restaurants. Finally stopped to check out. Rice is sweet. Not my favorite. The sushi roll fell apart trying pick up with chopsticks. Every piece. Fish tasted okay.

I wanted to like this place because the host was so so nice but the food was so bad, I have never had a slimy salmon sashimi and it smelled so fishy, there were still bones and I’ve never had that before. My kamikaze roll was okay the rice was so overly cooked that it was mush. I also had another roll and it was decent. I called to ask for a refund but they could only do store credit and I didn’t plan on coming back so the store credit didn’t seem reasonable. I won’t be coming back. My dog also didn’t like the sashimi so that was the cherry on top.

This is the 2nd time I’ve been here I had Vicki as my server both times and she was amazing, very attentive, great service and helpful the first time was very good the food was good we had matchy as our chef and it was a good experience but we went in the middle of the week during the day and we were the only 2 people there. The first time being so good makes this time so disappointing because we know how good it could’ve been.

This time we went I called a half hour before to make sure there would be a table for the 2 of us and I was told there would be. When we arrived there wasn’t a table for us which was okay since we sat at the bar and didn’t have to wait long to sit for hibachi. Once we were sat we were served soup and salad at a regular wait time but then had to wait for the chef for nearly an hour. We watched Matchy, our chef talk and hang out with his other table for the entire time. He took so long to the point where one of the other servers told Matchy he was taking too long and we were waiting for nearly an hour to which Matchy told our table he would be there soon. I then saw him walk back to the other table he just finished cooking for to take more shots with them and photos and continue talking for nearly another ten minutes while we haven’t been served anything besides the soup and salad. I also want to point out they were not busy, they had 4 hibachi tables and 2 chefs 2 of the tables were already being served when we got there, the one I was at was half full and the 4th was empty until half way through our night. Once he got to our table Matchy was visibly drunk and so was the other chef serving other people, he was very obnoxious, Matchy was non attentive at all. All he said said the whole time is “how are you” and “did you enjoy” but nothing else throughout the entire time. The food was horrible. My rice was severely undercooked it tasted like I was eating gravel, the rice was the main reason I came. My filet was rubbery and my chicken tasted very blah.

The only redeeming qualities of the whole experience was that Vicki our server was very good and the busser, I believe his name was Daniel was also very good. As well as our $7 discount. Nonetheless having your chefs visibly drunk and making people wait nearly and hour while they get even more drunk and hang out with other customers is ridiculous.

Party of 6 for dinner last night. Everything was fabulous! Our server was very attentive, our chef was engaging and fun and of course the food was incredible. Highly recommend having your hibachi dinner here. We had a little bit of everything. Sushi, steak, seafood. All excellent.

Lot is an amazing owner. They have the best fried panko items. They use a special oil and keep it clean. Drinks are amazing and the I Love Lucy is unbeatable.

Went back to Sakura last night after a long absence. Newly remodeled and the food was fantastic! I had a Sakura Roll and my wife had Hibachi Shrimp. Both were incredible!If you haven't been lately, strongly recommend you give it a try!

Had diner here today. The sushi was OK. But the place needs a redo. Chipped and cracked plastic plates. Unknown things in our water. Probably from the ice machine. (Nasty). Volcano roll we ordered is made with deep fried soft shell crab. It tasted like soap
(old oil in fryer). Our server was really nice. Probably. Won't came back. Wouldn't recommend.
