Lunch and drinks were good, but the man-baby manager threw a temper tantrum because we weren’t waiting for our food while sitting at our table getting eaten by insects, but were instead hanging around by the pool. Sorry our group spent over $250 there, actually.

Super inconsistent food. We stayed on North Captiva a week and it was a different experience every time we ate here. Basically its cooking roulette.

Went to Mangos on a Tuesday for lunch via personal boat. At first glance it is a cool little spot in very out of the way place. However, service was horrible. They had three servers for maybe 20 people when we arrived. We sat at the bar and the younger male bartender/server (Scott/Steve?) literally looked at us 3 times in the first 10 minutes and never acknowledged our presence or offered any service. My wife finally flagged down the female server when she came to our side of the bar.
Food was meh at best. We split a flatbread and salad. Flatbread was reminiscent of something we get from Walmart deli.
And my former bartender wife was beside herself when the (male) bartenders used their barehands to dig out condiments for drinks … cherry’s, lime, lemon, etc.
We rode an hour to get there by boat. Speaking to someone at the bar we learned Mangos is one of only two restaurants on North Captiva. That explains the lack of initiative by the (male) bar staff. They know they’ve got a captive audience.

During our recent visit to North Captiva, FL, dining at Mango's Cafe & Grill inside The Island Club turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. The moment we walked in, we were captivated by the warm and inviting ambiance. The tropical decor and relaxed vibe perfectly complemented the island setting, making us feel right at home.
The service was exceptional from start to finish. The staff greeted us with friendly smiles and were attentive throughout our meal. They were knowledgeable about the menu and offered great recommendations, which we appreciated.
Now, let's talk about the food. We started with the shrimp appetizer, which was absolutely delicious. The shrimp were perfectly crispy, and the homemade cocktail sauce flavor was just right – not too overpowering but enough to give a delightful tropical twist.
For the main course, I opted for the grilled mahi-mahi, which was cooked to perfection. The fish was fresh and flaky, and the accompanying mango salsa added a refreshing burst of flavor. My partner chose the Mango's burger with grouper bites, and it was a hit as well. The burger was tender, juicy, and had just the right amount of spice.
One of the standout moments of our dining experience was the sunset view from our table. As we enjoyed our meal, we watched the sun dip below the horizon, casting beautiful hues of orange and pink across the sky. It was a breathtaking sight and made our dinner even more special.
To finish off our meal, we shared a slice of key lime pie. It was the perfect balance of tart and sweet, with a smooth, creamy texture that melted in our mouths. It was the ideal way to end a fantastic dining experience.
Overall, our visit to Mango's Cafe & Grill was nothing short of delightful. The combination of excellent food, friendly service, and stunning views made it a memorable evening. If you find yourself in The Island Club, we recommend stopping by Mango's Cafe & Grill for a truly enjoyable dining experience.

On a hot, humid Florida Saturday, we headed to Mango's to hang poolside. The atmosphere was great. However, it took forever to get our food and drinks. Our server did warn us that she only serving this side (3 ft-6 pool) and was making the drinks herself. Poor gal to have no help. The smoked fish dip was creamy and good but needed jalapeños and more crackers or pita chips. Some of our group had burgers, which they said were good. Later, we went into the outdoor food area (maybe members area) the food was okay. The atmosphere was good, It was a busy day, so maybe they were overwhelmed. Mango's is definitely more of a place to go to hang and stay cool.
