On Sunday 7/13/2025 about 2PM we attempted to visit Mangoe's on a suggestion from a local Captain. We took an hour boat ride from SW Cape Coral & were more than happy to arrive. As soon as we approached the entering canal to Mango's, their Dock Master (wearing a light blue shirt, dark complexion, short black hair) YELLED at us that we needed to turn around because there was no parking. OK, we started backing up, and politely asked if we could park at Safety Harbor's dock because we were wanting to stop at Mangoe's and have lunch, to which he NASTILY YELLED AGAIN he "didn't know" and it "wasn't his problem". Thankfully, another boater was trolling by, and was nice enough to stop and ask if everything was alright. We explained what had just happened, and he said he heard the Dock Master yell at us. He suggested we stop at the Mainstay North Captiva Restaurant & dock for FREE. Thank goodness we took that suggestion, because the staff at Mainstay was MORE than welcoming & happy to have our business. While we were at that restaurant, another guest informed us that the staff at Mangoe's in KNOWN for the drama with the docks, etc. Needless to say, thanks to their NASTY Dock Master (if he even deserves that title) we will NEVER be back to waste our time & money. Hopefully, their admin realizes that while they are trying to recover from major storms, the locals MATTER and regardless, customers should not be treated that way.
Lunch and drinks were good, but the man-baby manager threw a temper tantrum because we weren’t waiting for our food while sitting at our table getting eaten by insects, but were instead hanging around by the pool. Sorry our group spent over $250 there, actually.

Been coming to Mango’s since 2019 but it has gone steadily downhill, especially since the hurricanes. The food used to be good and service decent but not anymore. The limited menu, high prices, poor service and included 20% tip are a deal breaker for me. They used to have an excellent Cuban sandwich but the other day the ham was tough and the sandwich was cold in the middle. The included 20% tip on top of already high prices does nothing but make the wait staff lazy and indifferent and make the prices TOO high for mediocre food and watered down drinks. The customer should determine the tip, not management. My wife and I used to go to Mango’s for at least one meal and drinks each day every time we came to North Captiva but we won’t be back.
Super inconsistent food. We stayed on North Captiva a week and it was a different experience every time we ate here. Basically its cooking roulette.

Went to Mangos on a Tuesday for lunch via personal boat. At first glance it is a cool little spot in very out of the way place. However, service was horrible. They had three servers for maybe 20 people when we arrived. We sat at the bar and the younger male bartender/server (Scott/Steve?) literally looked at us 3 times in the first 10 minutes and never acknowledged our presence or offered any service. My wife finally flagged down the female server when she came to our side of the bar.
Food was meh at best. We split a flatbread and salad. Flatbread was reminiscent of something we get from Walmart deli.
And my former bartender wife was beside herself when the (male) bartenders used their barehands to dig out condiments for drinks … cherry’s, lime, lemon, etc.
We rode an hour to get there by boat. Speaking to someone at the bar we learned Mangos is one of only two restaurants on North Captiva. That explains the lack of initiative by the (male) bar staff. They know they’ve got a captive audience.
