This is a historic location on Captiva Island. We came for a nice dinner and the food was delicious. They have variety of food from seafood, meat, and more. He drinks, more well-made, and a good selection of wine

We were seated immediately and the hostess gave us the preferred seating we requested. Our server was exceptional and upbeat. She engaged us just enough to feel welcome and appreciated and provided great suggestions. Food was excellent. I would prefer my crab cakes "hotter", but they were delicious. Views are limited from the restaurant, but after dinner we took time to capture a beautiful sunset from the beach across the way from the Old Captiva House. This place is a must for a romantic meal or dinner with friends.

Waiter brought a different bottle of wine to that ordered. Of course it was $200 more! Upon asking, the waiter apologised for entering the wrong wine and after much deliberation, the manageress reluctantly offered up a 25% discount on the wine. So I was only out $150 due to the restaurants lack of attention to detail. Thank goodness I didn't request a nut free meal, otherwise I may have been reaching for an EpiPen!!

Beautiful place to have dinner, see the sunset. LOVE the history of the building and the vibe. We felt the prices were a bit high for the food we ordered...chicken, short rib and Caesar salad. The waitstaff is excellent and friendly!

The Old Captiva House is so charming and a lovely spot for dinner. I imagine the outside courtyard is magical during the winter! Service was decent as was the food. Beautiful views of the water.

Tween Waters did great given that Old Captiva House is under refurbishment, My only complaint was that the venue was small and you could hear everyone's conversation. We were very happy with the food though. We don't normally go to Old Captiva House, but if the food is this good we'll go. Until next time.

Old Captiva House is closed for renovation. OpenTable reservations says this in the fine print when you reserve. The temporary dining room is located just around the corner in a historic building found on the bay at the rear of the property. The dining room is called Canoe and Kayak. The dining menu is reduced in size because the building and kitchen are smaller. The restaurant was very quiet and inviting. The service was prompt and efficient without rushing our experience. The food was every bit as delicious as the old Captiva house. They served warm rolls and oil. The Lobster Bisque was delicious, and we ordered Cedar Plank Salmon, short Ribs and a daily special of scallops with crab cakes. All were tasty choices. It was a special experience to eat water front in this piece of Tween Waters history.

Some of the best food around. Excellent service. With the loss of restaurants on Captiva after the last two hurricanes, it's wonderful that one of our favorites is still here.

Very unique dining experience with a great union. The service was amazing! And so were the views

The temporary space while the restaurant undergoes renovations was extremely quaint. The service was attentive and the food was outstanding.

Don't make reservations until the original location is open. The overall experience was OK. However, when making a reservation to Old Captiva House one expects an excellent experience. And that was not the case. First of all the original location of the Old Captiva House is closed. They are misrepresenting that the restaurant is open when in fact it's doing business from a location that has nothing to do as far as experience and quality to the original restaurant. The food was good and the service was OK. I would definitely not make reservations to go until they re-open the original restaurant.

While the main site is being refloored we were moved to the location where they normally host weddings, a beautiful intimate setting, food a lovely as always and still worth the visit

We dined at Old Captiva House to celebrate our 36th anniversary, as we have done several times in past years. This time, our anniversary coincided with Father's Day, so the restaurant was happily busy with a number of big families. Yet we were given a nice table in a quieter nook, which suited us very well. Our server quickly ascertained that we were locals, not tourists, and we pleasantly chatted about friends in common, such as the former chef at Old Captiva House, who is now on Useppa island. The server was knowledgeable, too; no need to explain what a kir royale is, she knows, and the bartender knows. Food was good. My husband's lamb chops were excellent, and cooked precisely to the point where he prefers them. My gruyere chicken was very nice, too, although the chicken was a little dry. The mushrooms were really fine. The dessert menu could have been more imaginative, but my husband enjoyed a copious bowl of ice cream very much. Perfect for a summer evening! Mostly we love the historic and tropical ambiance at Old Captiva House. We feel at home there.
