Me and my son loved this place, the drinks, the views and the food are excellent. The waitress was really nice and attentive, she got us some great food recommendations. For me, it was the chicken wings, which are one of a kind. She explained the cooking process, which is a house made recipe, baked, and then fried. It is a must-have.

Great rooftop spot with beautiful view and shaded seating. The carne asada tacos were good, the appetizer had good queso and decent salsa - not spicy despite being habanero. The tacos came with chips and salsa as the side. Great waiter. Very kind personable guy. Drinks are currently $16 dollars for cocktails and frozen alike. They're delish. The rum runner is good, the gulf sunset is good, the strawberry basil is very crisp and mild. There's a half price happy hour, but it's certain drinks only, so be sure to ask your bartender. If you're staying at the Hyatt you can charge to your room. Bring your ID for drinks if you look younger.

We stayed at the Hyatt so we lounged by the pool and ordered drinks from the bar and the by the pool. Wait staff and bartenders were attentive. We got steak and shrimp tacos, the shrimp was perfectly cooked. We did the Rum runners for happy hour, they were good. We also had frozen cocktails.

The initial bar tender today was a little rude and we almost left... but then... Taylor took over. She was super nice, fast and efficient so we stayed. The steak nachos were great too!

When I travel I usually stay at Hyatt. I have status with them and am usually guaranteed an upgrade. Me and the hubby decided to do a little get away and I just couldn’t justify spending $1500 for 3 nights so I booked the Residence Inn behind/across from the Hyatt on Clearwater Beach. Anywho, I said this to say Tropico Rooftop Cantina is a must stop even if you’re not staying at the Hyatt! It’s a rooftop bar/cantina on the 8th floor of the Hyatt Regency Clearwater. They have a variety of bar foods and several drinks options. I had a piña colada and my husband had a Margarita. A tad pricey, $40.24 after tip for 2 drinks. But the view is absolutely to die for. A+++ I’m positive that this bar is open to the public but we did have to wait for someone with a Hyatt keycard to swipe their card at the door before we could get in, we just followed lol. I’m not sure if there is a separate entrance, but it there was we couldn’t find it.

Decent bar, but lacking in spirit assortment, and the back wall needs an update -- sitting at the bar, you are looking at what looks like a metal industrial-type wall typical of what you would see in the kitchen or a restaurant.
