This location is really great. We go often and the service is spot on. Drive thru is very quick which is nice. It's locally owned and you can tell the owners care and take pride in this location.

Not sure why they have the rating they do. I personally had a wonderful experience yesterday.
I went in, asked to pay cash, they directed me to the self pay that takes cash, I ordered the #1 with a milkshake since I already had some lemonade with me. Everything was delicious.
The employees are very nice and welcoming. My opinion is that Steak 'N Shake tastes better and is less expensive than 5 Guys.

There isn't any service except for the that one that calls out your number. Once in a while the shift manager would bring³ a customers food to the who ordered ĥ

Had the beef tallow fries and have to admit they were awesome… reason I gave 4 stars is because, walking in it reminded me of another restaurant that has no customer welcome due to the technology ordering up front… friendly people in the back making awesome food but nothing up front.

If a 3.8 rating is stopping you from coming here, don't be silly. This is the cleanest Steak and Shake I've been to, the staff is incredibly welcoming and kind, and the food is always super fresh. I've been here dozens of times and never had a lukewarm burger or soggy fries. It's honestly impressive, everything made fresh and a great staff, also fantastic prices for the amount of food you get. Do yourself a favor and go here instead of nasty McDonalds for a burger.

The food is not worth the price. Every time I've gone in here it's been dead. Their menu barely changes as well.
I suspect steak and shake is not going to be in business for much longer. It's a shame because it's a cute low-key dinner date idea and there aren't a ton of those around here.

after waiting at the drive thru window for our second milkshake we asked for, the cashier informed us she only rang us up for one. rather than offering to ring us up for another we had the window closed on us. after waiting a bit for her to open it again (we even had our card in our hand near the window so we could pay for another), she never did so we gave up and left. food was bomb though!

Gone are the days of restaurants busy with servers running around and taking orders or carrying trays of food from a counter to a table balancing shakes and glass plates loaded with a steakburger and fries. The chili mac supreme is a thing of the past. You walk in now, and you place your order on an electronic kiosk, you get your own soda, a loud voice calls your name when your shake or your food is ready to get picked up from a counter. The novelty of that era is gone from its final bastion of hope, and nobody told us. Walking in to find teenagers loudly gathered around a couple of tables pushed together and crowded with sodas, shakes, and baskets of shoe string fries is no linger a scene you can expect from this restaurant with so many memories on Highway 50 in Clermont, despite the proximity to a high school. It's 9 pm on a Saturday, and this once novel establishment that harkened back to diners of our parents' youth has become like every other fast food joint in town. It's sad. The shakes and steakburgers are still as good as ever, but the service and friendly face of a human who welcomes you and chats with you at your table is a thing left to history books and nostalgia. Definitely get a Frisco Melt and fries (they were amazing and a call back to my time working here) and a shake. Get a Steakburger and fries with lots of ketchup (albeit from a small packet you have to get off of the counter where the drink dispenser is) and talk about the glory days. The warmth is gone. The loud conversations and clanging of silverware on china plates is gone. The employees were friendly and smiled behind the counters. It's not the same, but we still love it and will return.
