The place is laid out very nice along the river, great view. Clean. The staff are very friendly. The prices are a little steep for the amount of food brought out. The food - only thing worth bragging about was the smoked fish dip. It seems the meal sizes got smaller for tourist prices. 3.8% surcharge for the cooks and dishwashers is added to every ticket, was told because they dont get tips. Hmm

Cool relaxed place. Some food was excellent, some minor so much, but overall I'd go back.

A local here...live a mile away. I have not been here in a year, and stopped in this afternoon to give it another chance. The place has a very corporate feel. Feels like they are run by well educated group of expierenced hospitality executives. There is no soul here. Look into the face of the servers....thay all look beat-down AI bots....Sad.

Went here for dinner after visiting Cape Canaveral. We are near the water and had a great view. We had appetizers and happy hour margaritas. We loved the bacon wrapped plantains. It was pretty crowded for a midweek night.

Requested first available table when we got there, but there was a 30 minute wait. Was told we could go to the bar or go to the dock rails and look around while we waited. About half of the tables outside were empty. Walked back inside on the opposite side of the outdoor seating and the inside seating was totally empty. No reason for having to wait 30 minutes to be seated. Watch out for the "suggestive selling" we were charged for shrimp skewers that we were led to believe were inckuded as part of the salad. Otherwise, the food was GREAT! Chefs did an outstanding job! Live music was a one man band that was actually pretty good.
A bit frustrating with some of the service side, but otherwise it was a decent place. We'll go back, but we'll be a bit more watchful.

We were looking for a good local seafood restaurant and our host recommended Squid Lips. We arrived just about sunset and the view was great. Our servers could not have been nicer. They were pleasant, friendly, and efficient. We ordered the conch chowder and small salad to start. Both were very good. For entrees, we ordered the stuffed flounder and the stuffed shrimp. Both were good. The flounder was flaking and very tasty. The shrimp were plentiful - I think there were 7 and well cooked. We both thought that the sauce (the same on both) did nothing to enhance the dishes. It was thick and heavy and we felt that it overwhelmed the rest of the dish. When we received the bill my husband commented on the 3.8% “surcharge”. He had noticed it on the menu when ordering. We asked our server. She said that it had been added a quite some time ago to cover the increase in minimum wage. She was extremely apologetic & said that many people question it. Recently, we have noticed many restaurants adding a surcharge, but usually for using a credit card. We can avoid this by paying cash. But, this is the first we have been billed a surcharge so that a business can pay their employees an adequate amount. The bottom line is what we ask ourselves when we leave a restaurant : Would you go back - Yes Would you order the same dish - Most likely - No

I usually don’t leave a review unless a place was really great or really horrible. Sadly this place was horrible. I have been to the other squid lips in Melbourne many times and had good experience, however, the Coco restaurant is in need of some help.
The service was very slow and I could tell the waitress seemed overwhelmed, but my biggest complaint is with their food. We were served cold fish tacos with a pinch of browning lettuce on a stale hard taco. It was inedible. It was difficult to find our waitress so as soon as we could track her down, we cut our loses and paid $40 for inedible tacos. We just wanted to get out of there. This has to be the worst restaurant experience I have ever had… ever.
Someone please call Jon Taffer to come help this place… that kitchen can’t be up to code from the looks of what we were serviced today.🤮

DO NOT GO HERE!! Food is 🤮!! I definitely tasted freezer burn! There is no way my fries weren’t Checker’s frozen fries! And the water did NOT taste right at all.. Definitely came from the tap. And my “Coke” had such HEAVY syrup that taste like shasta cola… Sure the surrounding wasn’t too bad, but it was not clean whatsoever, outdated, and the bathrooms!?!? Disgusting… On the way out decided to peek in the kitchen.. That was my second mistake! My first mistake was coming here!! Abandoned room in the front looked like it was sinking into their smelly koi pond.. probably wasn’t cleaned for a while! Waiter creeped me out big time by flirting with my daughter right next to her HUSBAND of 12 years!! Typically I don’t give out reviews unless the place is really good or HORRIBLE. Whole entire establishment REEKS of sulfur.. The only somewhat non-smelly area was their skinny little dock that felt like it was sinking into the water. Other than that, the service was pretty slow but overall not too bad.. just wasn’t happy about our waiter. And the thing that surprised me the most was the cost?? For the freezer meals I received I expected it to cost wayyy less than what I paid!! Save yourself & your money and DON’T GO HERE!!!

Lunch on a Friday, at the beginning of the rush. Food was decent. No complaints but nothing terribly memorable either. Same with the service.

I get the feeling this place is entirely different on a weekend during the busy season. It was sort of cavernous and empty when we were there.

We went to Squid Lips on a Monday and had a 45 minute wait for a table. Had a beer at the bar. Bar tender was nice but super busy and happy hour was over. Food was good. Sunset was gorgeous! Great place for that. Went back two days later and were told an hour to hour and a half wait! It wasn’t that great so we didn’t wait. I think they need to hire more help! Didn’t appear to be that crowded

On Dec 19, 2024, we ordered raw oysters and they smelled fishy. When we told the server he said he’d check with the kitchen but returned to say these oysters were just a different kind. We both became violently ill the next day. Husband left a message for them with NO response whatsoever!!!
