Matthew was enjoyable. Not ostentatious. Kind. Down to earth real. The three beet salad was outstanding.

The food was extremely salty. The only highlight was the service. Overall.the restaurant food is not good, is overpriced, and the decoration and furniture look old, almost like a cafeteria.

Disappointed Birthday Lunch
I went to La Fontana at the Biltmore for lunch to celebrate my birthday and was very disappointed. I tried the short rib lasagna, but the tomato sauce completely overpowered the dish it tasted like a regular store-bought sauce, and there was so much pasta that I could barely taste the short ribs. The soup was just okay, and the gelato was the only thing that was truly delicious. On top of that, no one even wished me a happy birthday or sang, which made the experience feel impersonal. Unfortunately, I won’t be coming back.

Birthday letdown at La Fontana 😕 Went for lunch to celebrate my birthday and left disappointed. The short rib lasagna? Tomato sauce drowned everything—tasted like store-bought, and you could barely taste the meat. Soup was okay, gelato was the only highlight. Not a single birthday wish or song from the staff. Won't be coming back.

I went with a friend for miami spice. I was excited to experience this. However, I was very disappointed with all the extra charges on the bill. This was something they should of mentioned prior to servicing us. I understand the service charge, but then they charged me a retail charge and a hotel charge when I didn't even stay in there. The Caesar salad and bruschetta was delicious. My friend enjoyed her crab dish. I had the short rib lasagna. Loved the presentation but wasn't blown away away. We paid $93 each for 2 drinks ($28), sparkling water ($10), and the miami spice lunch menu $35. The hotel is beautiful. But wouldn't return.

Went for Miami spice for the $35 menu and unbeknownst to me, Restaurant added a $16 restaurant fee to the check and a 20% gratuity. Just thought everyone should know this before going. Left paying $75 I will not be coming here again.

I visited your restaurant for Miami Spice today and unfortunately had an issue I feel is important to share. While eating, I found a piece of plastic in my food. I immediately informed my server and explained that I had stopped eating because of it. I asked to have the meal packed to go, expecting it to be replaced, but when I got home, I realized it was the exact same food the plastic had been inside.
I was very surprised and disappointed by this, as I have always associated your restaurant with quality and care. I wanted to bring it to your attention so it can be addressed and so other guests don't have a similar experience.

We ordered the Miami spice menu. It's a good value and good, but not exceptional food. What began as a nice quiet dinner was ended by the arrival of a table of 10 very loud customers.

Unfortunately not impressed at all. Will go down as one of the most disappointing because of the reputation.

Went for Miami Spice lunch seating and to celebrate an occasion. The hotel was beautiful, nice pool area. The restaurant needs some serious upgrades to both the decor and service. Hotel is only 98 years old (not old by European or international standards) but the floor tiles looked at least 400 years old and not maintained. Dirty grout lines. Chairs were filthy, had not been changed in a while with layers of dirt on them.

Then came the service, in a 3 course setting there were extremely long gaps upto 20 minutes between each. Server nowhere to be found. Manager and other staff members didn't seem to care. Seemed to be a lot for not too many tables. After waiting for 30 min for coffee we gave up and had to cancel. Even the check took another 10 after that. Definitely dont recommend for any kind of business lunch unless you have hours to kill.

Food overall was mediocre. Soup was nice. Chicken milanese was pretty average, crusty dry chicken (with some surprisingly fresh salad on top). Risotto was ok, nothing to write home about. Dessert wise tiramisu was probably the better of the other options, can't even remember the other lemon one we had.

Overall experience ruined the occasion. Place was undeserving of an establishment of such a reputation.

Service was poor, food was fair to good, and took a LONG time but overall enjoyable. Simple ways to Improve the experience -

Service was great and the ambience is what we ideally seek in a restaurant. What a fabulous location sitting in the courtyard of a historic hotel! My wife enjoyed her entree- swordfish which was well prepared. Her Caesar salad was ok but dressing was too creamy. My pasta cacao de Pepe was a disappointment. It had no flavor and barely any pepper in it. I asked for pepper that took awhile and by the time it arrived my meal was cold. But adding pepper is an after thought. It needs to be incorporated in the sauce. It's a restaurant definitely worth a try and we will back and probably stick to some basic entrees like filet or veal chop

The front desk manager Janelle is amazing. There is no other words to describe how she makes guest feel great. The number one reason I keep coming back

We had a wonderful meal during our staycation at The Biltmore. The food was delicious and our server, Michael-Anne, was phenomenal! What a lovely lady with a "can-do" attitude!
