One of my favorite spots in the Gables. Staff is amazing and the food is always delicious.
Very good business lunch at MesaMar. We all had the Branzino which was very good. The Lobster Bisque was good but no lobster chunks like I've had at other restaurants. The service was good and very responsive.
Good menu. Place was completely empty during our entire lunch. Not one single patron other than us. Food was tasty, not outstanding. Overwhelming fish scent when you walk in...reminiscent of walking into a fish market. That was not appealing. Service on the other hand was excellent and good value for the menu offerings.
Wendy was our server. She was very good, friendly and helpful. The whole experience was excellent.
The food and portion was good. The service was great. The ambience was off do to the horrible choice of music. 50's diner style music, better suited for Johnny Rockets' burgers and fries. Requested to change the music playlist and then was changed to 80's style Saturday Night Fever music, killing the vibe.
Had an overnight stay at Miami Airport and we wanted something a little better than airport area restaurants. I found MesaMar on OpenTable, made reservations, booked a quick $15 uber ride and SO glad we did! Great cocktails, rock shrimp appetizer, Seabass, lobster ravioli and fried rice! Service was awesome and we 100% recommend!!
Went with my wife for the “Taste of the Gables” lunch. Ordered the lobster bisque and fish croquettes for first course. The bisque was too creamy for my taste. It did taste like lobster, but no pieces to be found. However, it did contain soggy croutons, as if they had been there for a while. The fish croquettes had melted cheese, which hid the flavor of the fish. I would had preferred them with bechamel sauce. For second course, I ordered the branzino, which was very tasty and perfectly cooked. It saved my day. My wife had the linguini with shrimp. The pasta was al dente and the shrimp was fresh and cooked just right. For dessert we ordered the flan, which my wife loved, but I prefer softer. I ended with a very good espresso. Will come back to try other dishes on another day.
Mesa Mar is always an excellence !!! Ther is no mistake at the time of deciding where to go to eat. Grat prices, great quality, and great service. Don't miss it !!!
Highly Professional staff with outstanding service!!! Food Delicious and prepared to our taste! Hog Snapper a must! Also the Fried Rice, Tostones, Tuna sashimi, Langoustines.... A Gem! Ask for Antonio the Manager and he will accommodate you and your group!
Love MesaMar. Always great food and service. Definitely on our rotation of go-to restaurants. Also their almond dessert has a hold on me every visit!
Restaurantji Recommends
Branzino Fish and grilled lobster were overcooked. The lobster bisque felt as if it had gelatin in it The only good dish was the filet mignon which was surprising considering it is a seafood restaurant. Would not recommend.
The whole experience was wonderful. The great food (octopus, arugula salad, hog snapper, and almond praline) was matched by excellent service.
This was a return visit to this seafood gem. The excellence is consistent. Lovely inside. Excellent service. Food is outstanding: sashimi, sea bass, shrimps and delicious desserts.
I have not been to Mesamar in quite some time, but it was nice, food and service was excellent. I like the ambience, people are dressed up and the noise level allows for nice conversation! I will be back!
