Best Italian restaurant in the whole Miami ♥️♥️. The Italian chef Antonio Alfano is the best and so is the service. The food makes us feel like we straight in

There is absolutely nothing to fault. The food and wine were gorgeous but what makes Portosole so special are Ivan and his team.

We dine in high end restaurants all over the world and we are gourmet cooks ourselves. So, we are very particular when it comes to choosing where to dine out. Portosole far exceeded our expectations. If I could give 10 stars, I would.
From the moment we walked in, to the moment we walked out, we had the most delightful experience we’ve had in a long while in a restaurant.
We were warmly greeted by the maître D And promptly seated. The atmosphere inside was beautiful: white tablecloths, low lit table lights, fresh roses on every table, beautiful decor, great energy and lively but not too loud. A romantic undertone but with a sexy vibe.
As soon as we sat down, we were provided antipasto of beautiful bright green olives, thin sliced salami, delicious breadsticks, and rosemary bread, olive oil with a sweet balsamic drizzle-all complimentary. Our cocktails arrived just in the right amount of time. The menu had so many good choices, it was hard to decide, and there were also wonderful specials.
We ordered the arugula salad with baby artichokes which came with light lemon vinaigrette, Perfectly Chilled and fresh- so delicious!
We also had the house made ravioli stuffed with Osso Bucco, which came with a wonderful saffron sauce. And the Dover sole- both outstanding and cooked to perfection.
They have an extensive wine list as well.
For dessert, they brought a table side cart and made Scroppino: lemon sorbet, vodka and champagne whipped together with small coffee chips grated over the top. Wow! So yummy!
The waitstaff could not have been more charming and attentive. You could tell they love their job. And we never felt rushed as many Miami restaurants can make you feel.
We will be back. Again and again!

This has become one of my favorite places to dine in Miami. It holds a special place in my heart as it’s become tradition to celebrate my anniversary with my wife here, and it never lets us down. The food is immaculate, with dishes that transport me straight to my favorite trattorias in Florence. The service is impeccable, from the greetings when you come in through the door to the attention to detail that everyone executes. The atmosphere is very romantic, cozy and elegant, perfect for a dinner date with your special one. I can’t recommend this place enough, it’s a must-try in Coral Gables!

From the service, to the ambiance, to the food, I finally found an Italian place I love in South Florida! Much better than Anthony’s Runway in my opinion!

My husband and I are locals in the area, and this place was highly recommended by our Italian friend. We decided to take a long morning walk and end up at Portosole for a nice lunch. Unfortunately the host did not let us dine here because they have a “dress code”. I understand this is legal and they have every right to enforce a dress code. I am just disappointed that we have been able to dine at every restaurant in miracle mile after our weekend walks (while wearing our athletic attire) without any issues. Its not like we were half naked…For a supposed authentic Italian place, it truly lacks humility.
Restaurantji Recommends
Everything we ordered from starters to main and dessert was excellent. Loved the parmigiana, cacio e Pepe (a bit salty thought) and tiramisu. All three of my fav dishes were done very well.

we went to portosole for our 3rd anniversary and as soon as we entered we immediately felt at home! As soon as we sat down they brought us Welcome Champagne and bites of various types.
the waiter (Edgar) was very kind and professional, recommending the typical dishes of the restaurant!
We start with Steak Tartare and Vitello Tonnato and then we share the best Tonnarelli Cacio e Pepe as middle course match with a perfect Brunello di Montalcino Glass, after that A real Bistecca alla Fiorentina (we finish having the entire bottle of Brunello)!
At the end of the Dinner The Managers (Ivan and Andrea) invite us the best Panarea Al pistacchio ever and the Famous Sgroppino alla Veneziana!!!
THANKS PORTOSOLE FOR THIS BEAUTIFULL EXPERIENCE
HIGHLY RACCOMENDED

I truly recommend this restaurant to all lovers of Italian cuisine.
The Amalfi packages are truly eye-catching like those on the coast.
Our waiter Alfredo, very polite and efficient.
The GM Ivan really made us feel at home.
Chef Antonio came to our table and recommended the best dishes in the place.
Thanks for making us have a wonderful evening

Today, I visited Portosole Restaurant based on a recommendation from someone who knows someone working there. I won’t mention names, as that’s not the point, but my experience deserves to be shared.
Upon arrival, we were seated at a table for two right next to the door, and several staff members promptly attended to us. The service appeared professional at first. We placed our order, and everything arrived quickly, but unfortunately, the food was more cold than hot. We also ordered two glasses of wine. Although the staff offered us additional options, we explained that we don’t eat much, which seemed to be frowned upon.
The food was just “okay,” far from what one would expect from a restaurant in Coral Gables. Nonetheless, I was with my wife, and we were enjoying a pleasant moment together.
When we finished, the bill arrived with the last plate: $268, including a $42 automatic 20% tip. I handed the server three $100 bills, and he thanked me. However, that was the last time I saw him. I waited for almost half an hour for my change, but neither he nor any other staff member who received the payment ever returned. It was outright disrespectful.
I wanted my change not because of the money itself but because I was actually considering reserving the place for a year-end dinner with my employees. Unfortunately, I lost my change, and they lost me as a customer forever.
I can’t understand why some Miami restaurants treat customers based on how much they consume or whether they order dessert or coffee. Does asking for water, ordering small portions, or skipping dessert make someone less worthy of good service or tipping? Even if that were the case, every guest deserves excellent treatment the moment they walk through the door.
Sadly, Portosole failed to deliver both the service and the dining experience expected from a place like this. It was a complete waste of time and money, especially when considering alternatives like Cote or Komodo, which are miles ahead in terms of quality and customer care.
It’s disappointing that these types of practices still occur in such a competitive dining scene as Miami’s. I will not return, nor will I recommend this restaurant to anyone.
