I felt very othered here when I came to celebrate a milestone. I don’t want to make it racial, but as the only person to lower their voice as the only black person in the restaurant, it felt very jarring to see everyone else speaking at a louder volume than I was and any it wasn’t a problem. Delicious food but shitty vibes. Especially for what I was paying. Won’t be back. If black I guess beware.

I had the opportunity to dine at Shingo to celebrate my 50th birthday with my wife, and it was an unforgettable experience.

We chose the omakase set menu, and every single course was incredible—carefully crafted, perfectly balanced, and truly second to none. The quality of the ingredients, the precision, and the attention to detail throughout the entire experience were outstanding.

From start to finish, it was a fantastic evening and easily one of the top three Japanese omakase experiences I have had so far.

A well-deserved five stars. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience.

If a restaurant already has a Michelin star are you really going to rely on a random stranger’s review to sway you?

Shingo was excellent. The staff and chefs were all very friendly. The decor and vibe are not ostentatious at all, a relief compared to all the places on the Beach we ate at the rest of the week.

The dinner was fresh and expertly prepared. I had never had unagi with caviar before, that was quite the treat. The chef showed us the fresh tuna block they were serving. The pacing was perfect.

Definitely a restaurant worthy of your patronage!

Dining at Shingo was an exceptional experience from start to finish. Every course shows remarkable precision, respect for the ingredients, and a level of craftsmanship that truly stands out. The omakase flows perfectly.Beautiful, balanced, and unforgettable bite after bite.
Service is outstanding: attentive, warm, and perfectly timed. The intimate setting makes the whole experience feel special and personal.
Without a doubt, one of the best omakase experiences in Miami. Absolutely recommended for a memorable evening.

Chef Shingo invited 16th generation potter Matsubayaashi Hosai from Asahiyaki Pottery in Uji, Kyoto for a Matcha Tea ceremony collaboration - incredible along with his pottery display (which one individual bought all the pieces!). The omakase meal, as always, was superb along with the unsurpassed premium sake pairings. Can't say enough to recommend!!

absolutely excellent food and service. food quality unheard of in miami, usually reserved to japan. one suggestion: tell guests to honor the setting and thus adjust their speaking volume to a normal level, instead of screaming.

Not worth the hype. Service was rude and unwelcoming. Will not be back.

The “Omakai Experience” at the $95 price point was very disappointing. There were 17 dishes in total, and the first was a sashimi appetizer with fish that still had tendon attached. I’ve never had an omakase, cheap or expensive, serve fish with tendon. I would expect that from an AYCE sushi place, but never from an upscale omakase restaurant. I’ve had fish from a Japanese supermarket that was better and much cheaper.

The oysters were fishy, but at $3 per piece, we knew we were taking a risk. The king salmon’s color looked off and unnaturally bright. It was also fishy.

The toro lacked the melt-in-your-mouth texture it’s known for. It’s supposed to be the star of all the fish, but it fell very, very short.

The sushi rice was not hand-formed. It clearly came from a sushi machine, and the rice fell apart whenever I dipped my sushi into soy sauce.

I came here because of the high rating and large number of reviews. I really wanted to like this place. We’re from LA and recently relocated to Gainesville, where we’ve been deprived of good sushi. It’s unfortunate that we wasted one of our precious Miami meals at Omakai.

You will not get better sushi in the United States and I’d go as far to say as the world. Chef Shingo and Chef Yuta are world class and their Michelin star speaks for itself. They are serving the highest quality fish. I’ve had Michelin star omakase in Tokyo and this is just as good if not better. The service is bar none spectacular. This is my 2nd time visiting and it won’t be my last!

Best experience I've ever had. Being there and seeing Shinto making the pieces of art in front of my eyes was extraordinary.
The waitress noticed I'm lefty and started to fix all the table to fit my strong hand and it was so special.

Absolutely exquisite experience from your first step in, until your last foot leaves.

The care this team takes to bring your evening to the top level is extreme. The FOH manager was obviously part of the team, and engaged with every party in attendance.

The chefs were entertaining, enthusiastic, and so excited to host. The level at which they executed every single bite was astounding. Perfection, with no room for notes.

This team left no crumbs.
