Steak was cooked to perfection. Ambience was great. The overall food was very good. We will definitely return.
I recently visited Sr. Martinez in Coral Gables and unfortunately left feeling disappointed. Upon arrival, the hostess informed us that the only available options were outdoor seating or a booth near the restroom, so we chose to sit at the bar instead. This was somewhat surprising, as nearly half of the restaurant appeared to be empty at the time. The bartender was attentive and provided good service throughout the evening, which was appreciated. However, the food did not meet expectations. The carbonara croquettes were the highlight of the meal—crispy, flavorful, and well executed. Unfortunately, the tuna appetizer seemed as though it had been prepared earlier and left refrigerated, lacking freshness and proper texture. Even the Old Fashioned cocktail fell short of the standard you would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. The overall ambiance also left much to be desired. The interior design and lighting felt poorly executed and detracted from the dining experience rather than enhancing it. It's disappointing because I truly wanted this restaurant to be better. With improvements in consistency, freshness, and overall atmosphere, it has potential—but as of now, it did not deliver the experience I had hoped for.
The chicken liver beignets were amazing and way better than you can get in New Orleans. Unfortunately the starter was the highlight of the night. Everything after was mediocre at best and wasn't served hot, not sure if it was just timing or management.
Excellent service. The food was very good, but my duck was a bit over cooked. It was on the done side of medium. I am accustomed to having duck quite a bit rarer. The noise level was moderate and the music enjoyable without interfering with table conversation.
Had an amazing valentines dinner here. The food is amazing, the service impeccable! The live music was a vibe! Loved it! Will absolutely be back!
Very good food, good live music, ambience is great both for romantic nights out or a nice dinner with friends. We had a great time and the value is great for the money. we will certainly be back
We had an absolutely fantastic evening here! The restaurant was decorated for Christmas and it was the most charming thing ever! Food and service were top notch. Get the crispy artichokes!
Loved the atmosphere, servers were very attentive. Appetizers were very good, I had the seafood paella and was disappointed it was all over cooked - everything was dried out in the dish. Others had lasagna and duck and were pleased.
There's no better place to enjoy an evening of fun and amazing food that Sra. Martinez. Amazing, perfectly executed Chef Michelle Bernstein dishes whose flavors stay with you long after you've gone and whose memory keeps you coming back for more. The very best in Coral Gables!
Overall , very good . Appetizer tapas were good . The pan tomate portion was small and lacked depth . However , the croquetas and the artichokes were excellent in flavor but small in portion size . The seafood paella was fresh and flavorful, as was the special oxtail “paella” whose rice was socarrat properly . The gnocchi lasagna was delicious and the gnocchi were light and fluffy. The saint emillion red was outstanding and at a very good price . Skirt steak was good but the papas bravas were far from what you eat in Spain . The bread pudding was superb ! Service and pace were just right . Valet parking at $15+tip should have been complementary . We could not meet the Sra Martinez ( the famous chef Michelle Bernstein ) who we are loyal fans of . That was disappointing, but overall , a fine experience.

It was our first time, the service was good, although it took some time to get our food out. Food was the main disappointment, mainly bland, too rich, and clearly not on par with the restaurant reviews and advertised level.
Absolutely outstanding experience from start to finish. The highlight of the night was the oxtail paella, it was rich, deeply flavorful, and perfectly cooked. It was hands down one of the best dishes I've had in a long time. The service was also truly out of this world, the entire wait staff attentive, welcoming, and seamless. The live music added so much to the ambiance and made the evening feel special, and meeting the chef was an amazing, personal touch. Can't wait to return.
Excellent Spanish restaurant in great location and ambience. We are the oxtail paella which was more like socarrat, and it was delicious but enough for an individual portion or side dish for two. The artichokes, croquetas, and beets appetizers and side dishes were exceptional. We also had the ribeye special, but it was ok with peppercorn and chimichurri sauces. Overall the food and service were outstanding, but its a bit pricey and the portions were rather small for the price.
The food was good. Fresh and delicious. The portions are off. Very small. We had the tuna appetizer and it is served in a big dish but not a lot of food. We also ordered the seafood paella, same thing, very good but small portions
Sra. Martinez was an absolute standout from start to finish. The service was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming every staff member made the experience feel personal and effortless. The food was incredible, full of bold flavors and perfect execution. My absolute favorites were the paella and the duck. The paella was rich, perfectly seasoned, and packed with depth, while the duck was tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Together, they made the meal unforgettable. I would highly recommend Sra. Martinez to anyone looking for exceptional food, top-tier service, and an overall memorable dining experience.
