Izakaya in Coral Gables is a true local hidden gem. It’s very unassuming, but it has some of the best, freshest sushi I’ve had in Miami. The quality of the fish is outstanding and incredibly fresh, especially for how reasonable the prices are.
This is such a great, easy weeknight dinner spot when you want something casual but really good. Just be prepared, there’s usually a wait and they don’t take reservations, but it’s absolutely worth it.
If you’re looking for excellent sushi without the hype or inflated prices, this place delivers

The sushi and udon were amazing! The service was fast even on a busy Friday night when the restaurant was at capacity. The staff was very friendly and the dishes were so tasty. Definitely will come back again next time I'm in town!

The flavors will bring you back. Absolutely delicious. Outstanding unpretentious service. You will feel at home. The place is always full of happiness. Most if not all are regular customers. I had the beef Teriyaki. The meat melts in your mouth. We were a group of eight. The Sushi is crazy good.

I had a difficult time finding authentic Japanese restaurants in Miami, but this place was amazing. Food was as close to home as it could get, the atmosphere was lively and popping, the service was quick. Overall great experience. Would love to come here again.

We came for lunch, and I wouldn't say it's authentic Japanese. I was hoping to get food made with delicacy and love as they do in Japan. I read in the website this restaurant exists since 1977 so I had high expectations. Fish quality is good but at least the lunch special is not special. Rolls barely have fish, tempura was grassy. The good thing was the sashimi.
