Triana and Roger were so friendly and they do an amazing job. It was the most delicious food. This is the healthiest and high quality food on campus at UM. Highly recommend!

The service here is fantastic, especially thanks to Roger! He speaks Spanish, which made everything much easier for me. His friendly and welcoming attitude made me feel very comfortable, even though my English isn’t great. I really appreciated his kindness and attention. If you ever visit UM and want to enjoy great food and amazing service, make sure to look for Roger!

Been coming here almost weekly since opening and have had a good experience every time until today. The staff is usually very friendly and I enjoy the service. However, whoever took my order today must’ve been having a terrible day because she was one of the rudest and most unnecessarily aggressive people I’ve met, to the point it doesn’t make me want to come again and makes me want to tell everyone not to go here. She barely gave me chickpeas so I kindly asked for more and she quite literally added no more than 5. So then when she passed it down to her coworker, I asked him to add more chickpeas and she snapped and screamed “no, he doesn’t get anymore chickpeas!”. It was odd and quite off-putting. She also gave my friend barely any falafel but he was scared to ask for more after she yelled at me in such a condescending way. Wish I got her name but she was working at 5:45pm today on 4/15/25. She was the taller of the two women and was wearing the yellow shirt (the other woman wearing black is always pleasant). Really hope this can be corrected. Even if there were a policy regarding how many chickpeas (which I doubt considering how this was the one time I received significantly less food than usual - making it very not worth the cost), this could have been communicated way better. Came from the medical campus and now will likely be hungry through my MBA classes until 11pm. Really frustrating. My friends and I supported Halal Shack since it opened and shared it with many people after being featured on the Instagram.

I got to The Halal Shack a couple of times a week for lunch between classes. The service is always quick and the workers are very nice! I highly recommend if you’re looking for a filling, healthy meal on campus!
