I went in about 1230 pm
A busy time mind you, I say at the counter. I ordered steak and eggs which was on special for 13.99 and a glass of tea.
My waitress was conversational and friendly.
My steak was cooked medium rare as requested. My eggs were a little over cooked..
My food was delivered without my toast and without asking if I needed anything. Which I in fact did need A1 sauce. A waitress that was not the original walked by and said my toast would be right up. I observed her go to the toaster and handle my toast with her bare hands after wiping her cheek with the same hand.
I unwrapped my silver wear and discovered the fork , knife, and spoon all had a lot of stuck on particles of food on them still.
My original waitress comes by I ask for clean silver wear and A1.
She promptly obliges my request.
The second set of silver wear was unwrapped to find the knife and spoon badly stained and some slight food particles on them but the fork was clean. I started to pick at my home fries with my fork.
I could also observe the kitchen from my seat and noticed the cooks were handling various types of food all without gloves or hand washing.
I asked for my bill , not eating anymore.
I get my bill and it's 18.00 even.
Since my special was 13.99 that means a glass of tea was 4 bucks!!
That was my experience with Grannies Restaurant.

I loved grannies.... My family and I have been going here for over 10 years...And then they sold it.
It's going downhill... I get different prices every time I order and it's always the same thing, the bacon is burnt to a crisp along with the sausage, the eggs are burnt. No matter how many times someone says something apparently it never gets to the person that needs to hear it! So today the whole breakfast taste like a burnt grill, sadly today is the last day I get breakfast from Grannies✌🏼*** update to that comment- I never had family work there "ever" lol so whoever you let go is on you! I'm not sticking up for anybody and I am "not" a disgruntled family member, just a customer that has been going there for over 10 years.... Thanks

Busy place which is because the food and service are both very good.
We had breakfast, and it was good. This is a place with mostly local customers. Small restaurant with about 15 tables plus counter seating. Staff were very friendly and attentive. There are a lot of options for lunch and breakfast as well as daily specials. Prices are fair. We recommend this restaurant.

The best home style cooking around! If you want good local food, check them out! There's a reason they are Citrus County's favorite spot!
Grannie’s is hands down the best and most consistently good food in the area. My wife and I have eaten there for years, and always recommend it to our friends and family. Good prices and fast service.
they need to deep clean this entire restaurant- its DISGUSTING. there was leftover food residue on the silverware we were given and dead bugs INSIDE the soap dispenser in the womens restroom. literally will never go back- go to denny's or ihop or even SONIC instead 🤮🤢
Parking: parking was a hassle- most people parked on the lawn or by the road, really hard to get in/out of and could easily get blocked in by someone else thats trying to park

Food was good. Large after church crowd. Server was really nice.
Grannies food is so delicious. You will be amazed at how expeditiously it comes to the table. The portions are large and the prices are small. That's true value for our hard earned money!! Come check it out. You won't be sorry!!

Had a great lunch - Beef liver and onions and mashed potatoes with cornbread -not everyone's thing - but it was great! Very tender, onions were so good and it was all around a terrific meal! And Patti is so sweet and funny. It was busy but man do they hustle! Longer hours now and open 7 days a week. Lots of things I want to go back and try - like chick n and dumplings.

Ate breakfast today.
Biscuits and gravy were okay. Smoked sausage very good. Eggs good. Bacon tasted like old grease. Most everything needed reheating.
Worst of all was Breakfast for two was $29 pre tip so almost $40.
Love the old diner style and service was great but quality of food was not up to other breakfast joints in the area (biscuit barn is terrific) and certainly not for the money.
