china island: an apt name for a restaurant that seems to think it is an island unto itself, with no interest in adhering to the normal expectations of eateries. service was downright insolent. we had to ask several times for our drinks to be served and our order to be taken. and then the server, clearly exhausted and uncaring, had to come back to our table and take our orders all over again because she couldn't find the original order. all of the food - from the tea, to the soup, to the eggrolls to the entrees - was served tepid, barely room temperature, when it should have been piping hot. afterward, we had to wait just to get the bill, with gratuity added, but we were not informed in advance and had to ask. no inquiry of dessert, not that we would have stayed any longer. there are perfectly decent chinese restaurants all over south florida. do yourself a favor and avoid this one.

The quality and service of this location has precipitously dropped. I ordered take out and in addition to them not giving me spoon or fork (or even napkins) until I brought it up, the wanton soup I ordered did not have any wantons in it and China Island wouldn't refund my money. I realized their error when I got back to my destination--three miles away--and China Island said I could either drive back to get another one or have a 50 cent credit on my "China Island" account. I did not want perform a six-mile round trip journey just for a wanton soup, so I wanted that portion refunded to my card and they refused to refund it. I said I was going to call my credit card company and they said go right ahead. The place is a grift, scam, and generally inconsiderate (no spoon, fork, or napkins) where I give them money in exchange for a fake wanton soup mysterious liquid in return.

DON’T order from here. They scam you and when you ask them about their prices they just start making up lies. They have a fish tank with large fish and 0 space for them to swim - zero common sense for anything. The food is also mediocre at best.

The food is always hot and tasting amazing. The service over the phone is really great as well. When you go to pick up your order the decor is very cute and simple with a fish tank. Excellent food and customer service is the best here!

The people that work there are rude and nasty !

The lady who answers the phone is beyond rude. She def needs to be re-educated on how to provide exceptional customer service. She might be good at what she does, but management needs to talk to her ASAP!Never had a issue with my food though.

The food was mediocre, it's what you would expect from an American Chinese restaurant, maybe a little less. I ordered the Mandarin style lo mein, and my mom got the Singapore noodles. The server, however, did not get my mom's Singapore noodles order. It was probably for the best, since some of the meat in my dish was cold. Not to mention everything tasted the same. We also got two egg rolls, which weren't bad, but they weren't anything to write home about either. We could also hear a woman in the back sneezing a lot while we were eating, which helped to kill my appetite. Inside, the restaurant looks kind of drab as well. I would give zero stars for the food, but they get one star from me because they were talking shit about one of the other customers and I live for drama.

Gave this place a couple tries because it's close by and anyone can have an off night. Every beef dish the meat was fatty and greasy. The rice has no flavor and the wonton soup was a dark color I've never seen before and had a very strange taste. Avoid this place.

In this restaurant if you have any anomaly with the food purchased no matter how expensive it is they do not solve anything, I bought a large tray for my family of $ 88.00 dollars and the next day I was damaged all this product ie Monday I tried to call and that day is closed today Tuesday November 7, 2023 they answer me and tell me they do not answer me for anything. They play with your money, they don't care about the customer when it comes to solving basic problems.DO NOT BUY HERE!!!!.

My husband and I got take out from this place last night. They accommodated our 8:50pm take out order and I was surprised the food was so good as I had little faith in Chinese food in Florida (New Yorker here). Fried rice tastes "healthy" and not oily, chicken and broccoli was good, though I did not get it with brown sauce :( (I didn't realize I had to specify). You can tell they use good ingredients. The wonton soup was delicious. This may be the best food establishment in Shenandoah! My husband got sesame chicken and each piece of chicken included white meat!

Horrible! This place has gone down hill! I ordered a sweet and sour chicken combo dinner. The egg roll was saturated with oil, even after using a paper towel it was still un-eatable. The sweet and sour chicken had more tempura then chicken. When I did find chicken it was dry and tough. This is the second time in the past three weeks with a horrible meal. Does anyone know of a good Chinese restaurant in sunrise or Weston area?
