Love this place! We live 15 min away and come here often- passing by many other closer Chinese food places. Food is great and just like NJ/NY style- where we’re from. Alan is always super helpful and remembers me and my husband just based on our order. They always accommodate my lo mein since I only like it with certain vegetables. We will keep coming back and always recommend to friends and family!

I order from Lucky Star often and I am never disappointed in the food. The food is fresh and cooked perfectly. The staff are all efficient and friendly. The younger man, who is usually there when I get my food, is very accommodating and takes care to make sure my order is correct. IMO, Lucky Star is the best Chinese food in the area.

Where do i begin, well I truly believe good Chinese food is always hard to find. I just recently moved, and I was referred to Lucky Star. Spoke to a young man by the name of Alan which is very tentative, and kind. I've order atleast 3 times with them and they havent let me down not once. The food is always fresh, cooked perfectly 👌. Portions are always big. I recommend anything from their beef lo mein, honey garlic or even their sweet n sour chicken. I cant tell you enough how good the chicken is. Overall they have made us very happy with their food, and service. I only have one picture to add today but I promise they won't disappoint you. Great job Lucky Star!

I’ve been coming to Lucky Star for about a year now whenever I’m craving Chinese food for dinner, and it’s always delicious! I’m a little picky about certain veggies in my vegetable lo mein, and they’re always so accommodating when I make a note. One thing I noticed is that my orders sometimes come in different containers, so I never quite know how much to order. Tonight, I asked about it and the man at the front was so kind and took the time to explain it to me, now I know for next time!

I recently ordered from Lucky Star and was very disappointed with both the food and customer service. I ordered a quart of shrimp fried rice and a chicken wing dinner with shrimp fried rice. The rice itself tasted old and stale—very firm, like it had either been overcooked or had been sitting for days. Definitely not fresh. I was surprised to find several upcharges: $1.50 extra just to add egg to the shrimp fried rice. $2 extra to add shrimp to the dinner rice. $0.75 extra for a spring roll instead of an egg roll—because I don’t eat pork, and the egg rolls contain pork. I explained over the phone that I don’t eat pork and asked to substitute the egg roll with a spring roll. I felt this should’ve been accommodated without an extra charge since the egg roll was essentially going to waste. Instead, I was told it couldn’t be done unless I paid more. When I arrived at the restaurant and expressed my frustration, the person there simply said I “could’ve asked for more rice.” Why wasn’t that option offered over the phone, when I asked for a better alternative in the first place? There was zero flexibility or consideration for dietary preferences. I understand policies, but it’s disappointing that a customer can’t receive a simple, fair substitution—especially when I’m already being charged for multiple add-ons.
Unfortunately, I won’t be returning. Between the stale food, excessive upcharges, and lack of customer care, this experience was not worth the cost.

Thank you for your response. I appreciate you taking the time to follow up. I’ve been living in Davie for the past 10 years and have tried several Chinese food restaurants in the area. I’ve been a loyal customer of your establishment for at least the last eight years. Unfortunately, my most recent order was by far the worst experience I’ve had from your restaurant, which is disappointing given the consistency I had come to expect. As I mentioned in my review, I did try to express my concerns while placing the order over the phone, specifically about not being able to eat pork and requesting extra rice. I was told extra rice was not an option at the time, and it was never offered to me as a substitution. Even if it had been, receiving extra rice with only 6 to 8 shrimp would not have made the meal worth it. I understand that your restaurant uses New York-style recipes, and I do appreciate regional differences in cuisine. However, my issue wasn’t with the flavor—it was with the quality and lack of accommodation. The food simply did not reflect the standard I’ve come to expect from your restaurant. I do appreciate the offer of a discount if I choose to give it another try, but I wanted to be honest about my disappointment. Thank you again for your time and your willingness to respond.

The fried rice is surprisingly healthy. It does not feel greasy like most I’ve tried before. Their chicken wings are AMAZING!
