The food was delicious and I enjoyed my meal. I did notice something that could be improved in terms of hygiene. The server, who was already wearing gloves while serving, removed one glove to handle payment, placed it on the counter, then put it back on. She later cleaned tables while wearing the same gloves used for serving food. A quick glove change between tasks could make the experience feel even more sanitary.
We got 6 meals to go and so ended up being served by 2 servers. One was quiet and not particularly helpful when we said that we were taking a while to look at the menu since it was our first time there. They were playing music relatively loudly and the acoustics in the small location are horrible, so it was a bit hard to hear when we were speaking with the servers.
The falafel was fried fresh to order and was ready quickly.

The Halal Guys have been around for years, and if you're a New Yorker, you know all about street meat, especially chicken over rice. They've won many Food Network foodie awards, and back in the day when I lived in NY, this was the ultimate late night meal after a long night of clubbing.
Their most famous location at 53rd St. and 6th Ave., right in front of the Hilton Hotel, had lines wrapped around the block for hours, all night long. It's pure nostalgia...
