Normally I would give Sakana five stars but after over 40 years of frequenting this restaurant under different owners over the years I must say it is not quite the same quality that it once was and like most restaurants nowadays the prices have went way up. $22 for chicken and stir fried rice may seem okay to some but that was the least expensive choice for us. We did the sushi on the rotating boats & the place was empty! I couldn't believe it because everything was delicious! ? Great service too.
Kid-friendliness: They were very attentive to the kids, gave them special chopsticks and extra of the decorative flowers when they said they liked them. :)

The peaceful music in the background reminded us of Miyazaki's movies. It was pleasant and quiet; great for winding down after walking for a few hours. My wife loved the dragon rolls, and I was able to get small servings of several varieties off the boats (my favorite was the Raymond rolls).
