Cook's Buffet Cafe Bakery

It was our first time. The selection was very limited. Unfortunately I was only able to have three things on their buffet (mashed potatoes, cabbage and roast beef). I wish they had more vegetables to choose from but for the price it was worth it. He had some soup but didn’t like the velvet chicken soup. $42 for two of us. Went home with pie slices too.

Reat place to eat.We are going there again today.

Good food, excellent service for our Father’s 89th birthday celebration!

I would highly recommend Cook’s in DeLand, Florida. The restaurant is beautiful from the entrance to the inside there were beautiful Poinsettias green and red, and a beautiful water fountain outside. Based on the holidays, I believe someone takes the time to decorate it. When I went there, the three trees were decorated for Valentines’ Day. I can honestly say “I absolutely loved it.” I was informed Cooks celebrated birthdays, and that was phenomenal news to me. The food was delicious, and the hospitality received from the beginning to end was exceptional. I appreciated every effort the staff made towards making my special occasion memorable for me.

A charming, family-style restaurant with a nostalgic atmosphere.

The service includes unlimited salad and vegetables (expected for any “buffet”), but the meat (JUST ONE small portion and carved by a server), my opinion meat cuts were not good enough; about dessert, the portion (ANOTHER ONE PORTION TOO) was generous and flavor was good.

If you want an additional portion of meat, dessert, it will cost you $5/ea and soup is NOT included, you can have it for another $5.

While $19.99/person might seem like reasonable at first glance, then my wife and I felt we were deceived with the word “buffet” in the name of the place, the overall experience didn’t justify the cost (once again, just my opinion).

For a couple, the final amount paid was a little less than $50 (including tips) which was a bit much for what we received.

We’re glad we gave it a try (we like trying new places), but definitely won’t return.

Food is delicious, some of the best southern style cooking I have ever eaten in a restaurant.... The staff are very helpful and informative as the pricing options are a little bit confusing they helped me understand.... Definitely recommend and I will definitely come back again....

Friendly atmosphere and good food. If you opt for the buffet, you get one portion of meat, unlimited salad bar, and one piece of dessert. Great affordable place for a night out.

A quaint family restaurant and throwback in time. The food was good with all you can eat salad and vegetables. Meat is a single serving and probably about 3oz of meat and that might be generous. I had 3 slices of thinly sliced roast beef. For $20 it seems like a bargain, but In my opinion it was not. $48 with tip for a couple was far more than the meal was worth. Glad we tried it, probably wont be back

It was my birthday and I took my family (8 of us) out to eat here. I have been here before and, also, ate at the Holiday House in New Smyrna when it was open, years ago. The food has always been delicious and I was so glad to introduce the rest of my family to the establishment, since they had never been there before. Based on the food, service and wonderful people there I am sure they will all return. Thank you, Cooks Cafe for a wonderful birthday dinner and superb service!

Great meal for the money…. Homemade and delicious for $20. You get unlimited salad and veggie bar. You get one meat option I drink and dessert I mean that’s quite a bargain.
