Porkies of Deland BBQ offers a delightful dining experience with its renowned smoked turkey, described as the "most delicious turkey" and a "fantastic" barbecue menu featuring mouthwatering pulled pork, massive ribs, and a tender, flavorful smoked turkey platter. The restaurant is known for its friendly atmosphere, with staff that often receive praise for their kindness, especially from a recent customer who highlighted Crystal's warm welcome and informative service. While it lacks vegetarian options, its side dishes, including the mac and cheese and the must-try sweet potato casserole, are well-liked.
The ribs are noted for being juicy, tender, and tasty, with one guest calling them "KILLER." The garlic bread has received mixed reviews, with some finding it a bit burned while others loved it. Guests have enjoyed the simple, country vibe of the restaurant, where they order and pay at the counter and then find a seat to wait for their food. The sliced pork sandwich is highlighted as "UNBELIEVABLE" for its tenderness, and the collard greens and red potatoes also make a good impression. While some customers noted that the food wasn’t anything special to brag about, they appreciated the good sauce and overall quality. Porkies of Deland BBQ is a must-visit for those who enjoy BBQ when in town, especially if they get there early.
