The Newest Restaurants in Miami Worth Checking Out

Miami's restaurant market rarely slows down, but the first half of 2026 has been unusually active. Outside operators are arriving with established names, while local groups are testing new formats far from their origins. Nine addresses opened between February and May. Here is what came in.

The Mexican

The Dallas-based restaurant opened its first Miami location at 601 Brickell Key Drive in April 2026, occupying a waterfront position on Brickell Key. It falls within modern Mexican fine dining, distinguishing itself from the taqueria and casual Mexican spots that predominate in the Miami market. The water views from the dining room are a defining physical feature of this location, which has no counterpart at the Texas original.

Bored Cuban

Owner Eric Castellanos opened the third outpost of his NFT-inspired Cuban fast-casual restaurant on Sunset Drive in South Miami on March 5. The menu draws on Cuban culinary heritage while the branding incorporates visual references from digital art and contemporary Miami culture. The chain has built a following in part through that visual identity, which applies NFT aesthetics to traditional Cuban food culture.

Le Specialità Café & Market

Spicy Hospitality Group opened the first U.S. location of Milan-based Le Specialità on South Bayshore Drive on March 2. The space combines a restaurant and a market under one roof, drawing directly from its Milan original. The kitchen leans on Italian regional cooking without significant adaptation to local tastes, and the market section supplements the dining room with provisions for retail.

1986 Steak House

Chef Marcel Daguerre opened 1986 Steak House in Coconut Grove on May 4, positioning it as a next-generation Argentine steakhouse centered on live-fire cooking. The name references 1986 - the year Argentina won the FIFA World Cup - grounding the restaurant in Argentine cultural identity rather than generic South American steakhouse conventions. The live-fire method shapes both the menu and the kitchen operation, with the grill as the central piece of equipment.

Menu Highlights:

Ribeye - traditional ribeye cooked over live fire.

New York Strip - fire-grilled New York strip steak.

Japanese A5 Shimane Prefecture Wagyu - premium Japanese Wagyu beef.

40-Day Dry-Aged Prime Porterhouse - dry-aged porterhouse steak.

Allegro Ma Non Troppo

Owners Carlos and Mar Galan opened this 38-seat Italian restaurant in Brickell in the second week of April. Allegro Ma Non Troppo - Italian for "fast, but not too fast" - signals the kitchen's operating philosophy: a deliberately limited menu of 10 items rather than the sprawling selections common at Italian restaurants of comparable scope. The small room and short menu require consistent execution of each dish, a format that stands apart from the large-table, multi-page-menu conventions of the neighborhood.

Menu Highlights:

Caesar Salad - made with Caesar Cardini's original 1924 dressing recipe.

Wagyu Bolognese Lazy Lasagna - layered pasta with Wagyu ragù.

Chicken Cotoletta alla Milanese - Milanese-style free-range chicken.

Whole Branzino - served with olive oil, lemon, and rosemary.

Olivia Baguette - baguette layered with stracciatella.

Ember Group opened this grab-and-go sandwich shop at 100 Miracle Mile on May 9, extending the Buccan name into the fast-casual segment. The format suits the Miracle Mile corridor, which generates significant foot traffic during lunch hours. Buccan has previously operated in fine-dining settings; this opening represents a shift toward quicker service.

Beef Carpaccio Sandwich - beef carpaccio with arugula, Parmesan, crispy onions, and lemon vinaigrette.

Turkey Club - grilled turkey breast sandwich.

CHŌ Funky Asian Bistro

CHŌ Funky Asian Bistro opened on 17th Street in Miami Beach on April 9, serving pan-Asian dishes drawn from multiple culinary regions. The menu does not focus on a single national cuisine; instead, it moves across Korean, Thai, and other traditions within a single sitting. The "funky" in the name points toward a flavor-forward cooking style rather than a refined or restrained one, though the bistro setting suggests table service rather than fast casual.

Menu Highlights:

Pad See Ew - wok-fried noodle dish.

Duck Fried Rice - Indonesian-style duck fried rice.

Korean Fried Chicken - crispy Korean-style fried chicken.

Crab Curry - rich pan-Asian curry with crab.

Gigi Rigolatto

Paris Society opened Gigi Rigolatto inside the Delano Miami Beach hotel on Collins Avenue on May 7. The French hospitality group, known for its portfolio of high-profile restaurant properties, brings an Italian menu to one of Miami Beach's most recognizable hotel addresses. The hotel setting and Paris Society's track record suggest a dining room that will draw as much from hotel guests as from neighborhood foot traffic.
